You need to bring back the Observatory, and place it near the highest point. Observatories are always placed on mountain tops to reduce the amount of atmosphere between the telescope and the sky. I think it might be interesting to be amongst the winter village and a ski slope.

For the winter area: What about creating a ski hill that leads into a winter village? Could have lots of fun stories and features on the mountain (jumps, rails, moguls, yeti, gondola, etc)
@OlivierFlyingАй бұрын
I was thinking the same. Usually, the ski resort/village (at least in the Alps) is not at the top of the mountain but more half way(ish) to the top. At the top, near the end of the ski lift, you might find a "restaurant d'altitude" but the village should be lower. I would move the winter village forward and add another platform even higher so the mountain can be build as high as the "emergency" exit door/back door.

It's amazing how much of a difference a little bit of mixed elevation makes to really bring a city to life

Jordan, the city and countryside is looking amazing. Can’t wait to see how you create mountains and all of the details. One thing that you had mentioned in this video was snow White cabin you consider adding a small mine entrance in the mountains near snow White and the dwarf cabin. Yes it would definitely break up the mountain side. Its a small detail maybe a mine car with coaster track, the mine coming out of it and mine access tunnel. And lastly, congratulations being in time magazine such a wonderful article they did about you and the other AFOL’s.
@Oz-ReinАй бұрын
This is a cool idea. You could even have a portion of the mine visible in one side of one of the access holes. It may not be a priority at the moment but there's so much room for fun details like this throughout the city since you have so much elevation now. Interiors of caves or mines or subterranean areas visible under the raised platforms either in the access holes or at the back edge under the winter village.
@jbaker3031Ай бұрын
Just a thought on the winter village. You could have the fantasy/North Pole themed sets up high in the mountain and have the reality based theme lower or at the base of the mountain. Looking great! Can't wait to watch the progress!
@michaelrobinson1806Ай бұрын
Love how tall the winter village will be. Def a good choice for it. Looking really good.
@22damagedАй бұрын
I like the idea of the lodge close to the peak of one of the last mountains and several ski slopes coming off the mountain towards the winter villiage. Make some great stories: bunny hills for kids, inner tubes and sleds, black diamond hills and moguls...it would be EPIC!!! You have the space so no reason to skimp!!
@rbleisemАй бұрын
Two hills, if you want a mountain, you need to go above your skyscrapers, Bricksie. The tip needs to be at least twice that height. Let your railway track go from __--/ to \_/ and thus go up almost vertically.
@thedoctor4637Ай бұрын
A grand bridge from the winter village to the center mountain would look great!
@josephharrison5639Ай бұрын
Two things, throw the observatory up on one of the tallest mountains, in real life we put them at high elevation to reduce the affects the atmosphere has on images. Second I think the winter village should be in a valley surrounded by ski slopes, a single road in with slopes surrounding the village
@stevehumm1678Ай бұрын
I love the extra height Jordan, please say your going to build a massive cave inside
@Maximumeffort0927Ай бұрын
That does seem like a great idea, maybe under the winter village so the back can be open and you can see inside? Idk it just feels like a waste of space if it’s just a big wall
@Angrist17Ай бұрын
Love the progress. The platform looks great with the baseplates on it, especially from the downtown side. I think the Winter Village should be at the *base* of the ski slope. Chair lift to the top, ski back down into town. But the buildings do look really good where they are. So I'd maybe build UP in the corner even higher and come *down* into where the village is now. Go BIG. If you run into trouble trying to reach things you could consider getting an automotive "Topside Creeper". They're basically step ladders with a platform on the top to lay on and reach into the back of an engine bay. May need a little finagling to get into the access hole but they tend to fold up so it should work.
@happyscrapbooker1712Ай бұрын

You should have a raised line/monorail that runs from the amusement park to the winter village. It would be fun running through the park, stopping at a Bricksie Land Resort (you need a park resort) and taking folks through a tunnel over to the winter village/ski resort.

Looking Great Jordan! Looking forward to your winter village this year. The new Santa's Post Office set would look good in a North Pole section along with the Elf Clubhouse, Santa's Workshop, Gingerbread House and any other Winter Fantasy type sets separated from the more realistic sets. I'm sure whatever way you arrange your village will be great. One question that I have is when you do start to place all the details in your city and downtown core do you have Fire Hydrants? I remember your Street lights and Traffic Lights but don't recall any Fire Hydrants in your old city. Keep up the great work!

I look forward to the landscape looking less boxy. Also something I noticed when you were showing off the landscapes in Billund was that they were still like the sets, very tight together so they packed in a lot of detail in small spaces. The tendency is for MOCs to take up a lot more space than they need to. Think small, I think that's a good thing to keep in mind when building anything.
@etphonehome132Ай бұрын
I love that you are starting to go vertical. So can I please ask again for... a Italian sea side or river village, a flavela, and a cyber punk town on the mountain (the cyber punk town can be next to ninjago... as they have a lot of cyber punk themes. I still feel like I'm there with you building the city. Thanks for the journey. 😊

Really enjoyed this update. I wonder if a hotel complex nestled into the mountains below the snow line, but raised above, and looking down towards the amusement park would work better than raising the rollercoaster. The relative sense of scale issue that worlds in miniature have to contend with is always a consideration. A rollercoaster higher than/high as a mountain might look odd.

Now all you need to do is make sure that the train track is level before adding more weight to the raised tables as it might be harder to do later on. I still think that the Snow White and Seven Dwarves set should be in the Medieval section as it is more suited to that time period.
@johnvocaturaАй бұрын
Jordan, here is an idea. What if you add to the nice setup you built and make several 2x2 base-plate wide tables with all of your small remaining stock. Make 4 different heights and four of each height. So you then have these 16 building blocks basically that you can move around and make a more natural edge and pile up high if needed. It would be an simple system to move around for a more organic shape and easy to make more if you need them. Looking so sweet by the way and thank you for the great content.

Hey just a few suggestions for the mountain if you want, firstly I think the winter village would be better suited half way up the mountain rather than on top, I don’t know wether u have the space or budget to make the mountain bigger and put the observatory on top and/or an old mythical ruin. It could also be cool rather than trying to build a path up the mountain, create a long cable cart, just a few suggestions but loving the experience of being able to watch the city come together

Looking good with elevation, The village would better if it followed the mountain as it gets higher and not totally flat. Also consider leaving the outside of the mountain open in places, think of it as a knife cutting though the mountain to create a flat side, think of the stories you could tell going on under ground.

Since you have so much space underneath the platforms you should think of ways to use it like you did previously with the dungeon and train station. when you MILS plated the Amusement Park you ask what to do in the area between Residential Area and Amusement Park.
