The flip up table is simply inspired. By creating floor space and desk space you've solved one of my big concerns with spending time in an RV - comfortable seating. Those basic dinette seats look like they'd be good for about an hour. With the extra floor space you could find a comfortable task chair and edit videos without back pain. Love it!

I've been following your channel for almost two years and want to say how much I appreciate your videos. I have a Rockwood. A-122 (very similar) and your table invention is the most novel idea I've seen. You helped me make a good choice in a camper. I've enjoyed the Blues Trail video and so many others. The Mexican cop was classic. Keep on Rollin, amigo!

We have a cassette toilet in ours, thinking I'd rather have the space, not sure how to remove it, yet...we have a luggable loo, I'd rather just stick with that. Enjoy your videos, glad you have your new trailer back. 😏

The music you use as background is perfect for the travelogue cadenceof your "expeditions". I've had the pleasure of renting an A-Liner in CO (at an AFB Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) shop and used it on some mountain land the missus and I own in CO. If I ever buy a camper, it will be an A-liner because of the very clever ideas you've employed to enrich your mobile dwelling--I would do the same. And indeed, it's the right size. I wonder about our 3 dogs, though....

The pop up table is just what I was looking for, for my Arrowhead Chalet. So I took the over-sized original table out and built a pop-up table tray based on your design. It is fantastic, ... thanks for sharing your design. I wish I knew how to post a pic here so that I could share it with you and your subscribers. ??

My wife and I leave the double bed in place permanently. However, I built a two foot deep shelf that runs above the foot of the bed. At one end, it rests on the top of the kitchen drawers. At the other end, it rests on the lip of of the roof hinge, i.e. it runs across the lower left corner of your overhead shot of your A-liner. Gives you lots of shelf space. We keep our TV, assorted electrical appliances on it, during the day we keep our clothes in totes underneath the shelf on top of the bed. We eat at the other end. I removed the original table. We always found it a pain to slide in and out of the narrow space between the stove and the table. Instead I purpose built a table with a hinged section that we just lift up and out of the way to get in an out... something like a bar counter, if you can imagine that. However, I like your table idea a lot and will give some thought to how to combine the best of both... Great vids... give me lots of ideas.

Hi Mike, Sounds like you've outfitted your trailer well to suit your needs. That's the beauty of an A-frame, there's a lot of room to modify and refine the design. Thanks!

I love this setup. I just subscribed! I was thinking of getting a tear drop trailer but now I think I want the headroom of an Aliner and a toilet and shower inside.
@SlimPotatohead7 жыл бұрын
Hi Mixflip, there are some T&B trailers that are roomy and have the shower, toilet and kitchen inside as well. I wouldn't recommend any that have an outside shower or kitchen. I've seen too many of these on the road where people are struggling with the wind and cold.
@mixflip7 жыл бұрын
Slim Potatohead I agree. I slept in a tear drop at the overland expo last week and while it was comfy...getting in and out was a chore for going to the bathroom or getting snacks or drinks once your inside. the weird part is that they cost the same as an Aliner and are taller so you can't see out the rear view mirror when driving. these Aliners are looking more and more appealing.

at 3:39 there are plastic latches that keep a drawer or door from opening when going down the road. I have googled door latches but don't come up with these. What is the proper name? And thank you for this video. I have a 2016 LXE and I love it!
@SlimPotatohead4 жыл бұрын
Hi Victoria, you may be referring to a bow tie latch. They were used in screen doors. The plastic one shown is just something I made from a plastic cutting board. Thanks! SP

Hi i have wathed a few of your videos, good stuff. We live here in the UK, we have loads of cheap second hand trailer tents here. Was wondering how difficult it would be to convert to a Aliner setup, the base is already there, but you need the over folding roof and sides and connection to the body. Any ideas?

Hi Slim or should I say Mr. Slim :) my husband and I have watched every video you've ever done I think and we love them! Any further details or help, if you see this video in time, would be much appreciated. Hi Grae, While mostly solo, But I wouldn't want to deter friends from joining the journey. The desk and benches in the back work well for me, however keep debating as to whether I need a water tank and sink as I never use them. Those may be the next to modify if I need space.
@lovedulcimermusic7 жыл бұрын
I agree with you about the water tank. I just bought an Aliner Scout and it has a "city water" hook up. Most of the State Parks around me have some electric on site available but usually there is no water at the campsite itself. I think it would be nice to have a manual pump system with two small portable water containers (fresh, grey) under the sink. The salesman actually told me that the city (pressurized) water drains through a hose out the bottom of the trailer to the ground. I hope he meant to say that I would need to put a water container there as shown in one of your videos. I love your desk idea.

I wouldn't need two beds/table area so would have taken one side out and build a cabinet next to the kitchen counter as an extension of it to hold food/kitchen gear and put maybe a simple comfy chair to sit in. I'd rather have a bed always set up.
