Hello. Bob. Glad you like the sponsons. Mine were also put on by my dealer and set on the middle hole. I moved them to the fourth hole using only an Allen wrench. I just added a little amount of Loctite to the screws. Twenty minutes. I been in all kinds of conditions down here in RI and I've experienced an amazing difference in the handling. I have ordered the Riva Intake Grate (KS from the WCJ recommends those, also) and will have that put on soon. Also have added the Garmin 62cv with the in-hull transducer. Love it. Thanks for the shout-out. Namaste.

Hi Don. I will have to take a look at that intake grate. Do love the sponsons though. Still getting used to my new Garmin. Need a few solo rides so I have some time to play with it.

I bought and installed the catch can this past weekend. It took me about 45 min taking my time. Good instructions and all the parts were there. I installed it on a 2018 GTX230. Let's see how effective it is, and how easy it is to drain...

I too will be curious to see what amount is in that can after a month. I think we are going to find that it’s designed for riders who run fast at high rpm.

Just so you know I ordered these exact same parts and thought I got them no duty, 2 months later a huge duty bill showed up in mail. However they are fantastic parts and worth the money imo. I understand you may not be using the sponsons for hard cornering but they have also significantly helped my machine track straight in waves.

Cheers Bob, Great to see the Riva sponsons going on, they are an absolute must for the ST3 hull, it will help with the the very unpredictable nature of that hull as they dart All over the place even when riding in a group ,, you could fit the intake grate as well but your not into heavy choppy water so these will make a huge difference. I have mine full down as we ride here on the “Wild Atlantic way” over here in Ireland 🇮🇪, always a big swell and choppy. Really helps with the tracking 👍😎

Taking the screws out are near impossible. Especially the Lower one. Would have loved to see what he used and how long that took. For the catch can… These should come with them like the kawi’s

Hi Bob, great stuff. . . question - what is a CATCH CAN? why install that whats the purpose. Also the dealer that installed it what is their name? I think I might like to use them for my install as well. Thanks

Its all in the video that you watched on Riva Sponsons install. The catch can is explained and installed in that video

Yes watched the video and I understand what a catch can does but I’d like your opinion of the purpose long term, better reliability, less maintenance? I’m just curious

Bob- where’d you get that dual LinQ mounting plate?
@bobsudeyko40882 жыл бұрын
I got mine out of a guy in Florida but Seadoo now makes one. About the same cost.

@@bobsudeyko4088 Thanks for the reply- do you happen to recall the name of the Florida outfit? I cannot seem to locate the OEM one.

the original sponsons had 4 bots that went onto the hull but the sponsons have 3. What do you do to the 4th hole?
@PTRRanger951 Жыл бұрын
4 were taken out and 4 were used. The backing plate has 4 mounting holes for the original bolts locations. Then 5 bolts are used to secure the sponson to the backing plate.

Is the handling on the gtx that poor from the factory? I’m still waiting for my 230 to show up however have been hearing more and more concerns about how these st3 hulls handle. It’s making me question my decision.
@bobsudeyko40882 жыл бұрын
I rode four 4 years without the Riva Sponsons. Nothing wrong with the ST3 hull. It’s just that it can be improved with these sponsons if you have some hours on a seadoo under your belt.
