I have to say…it’s been awesome!!

How did you figure out how much sand you needed? Also, what was the setting on the spreader?
@UnderParAcres2 жыл бұрын
When I bought the turf they told me it needs 3-4 pounds of sand per square foot. I can add more if I want it faster but it’s rolling really good now and it is not too fast for my kids to learn on. I set the spreader to the widest setting and it worked well!

@@UnderParAcres Thanks. I have an existing putting green and need to add the sand to it. Was just trying to figure out the amount to use. Thanks again. Great job and hope kids enjoy.

@@mattbloch8187 My understanding is that each type of turf has a different requirement and it all depends on the length of the fibers. The shorter the fiber the less infill requires. Just go about it slowly and test it out after each spread. I would spread three bags, brush it in and test it until I had it rolling where I like it.

I am curious to know the particle size of the silica sand , If is too fines there will be a possibility of water ponding when it rains. I am eagerly waiting for your response

I used a 30/50 sand that was specifically intended for putting greens. We have had record amounts of rain the last year and the green has held up very strong!

Great video - the roller used at the end, how crucial is this? I have a spreader and broom but wondering if investing in a roller is needed - or maybe rent from somewhere?

That yard roller is huge! I bought it about 4 years ago for about $125 and it has been a big addition! It's critical for the putting green as I roll it about once per month during peak season as it keeps the green rolling quick and smooth. I also use it though for any other compaction work I need done, and I use it after seeding the yard to ensure seed to ground contact. I highly recommend one if you do a lot of yard work and/or have a synthetic putting green!

Thank you for this; may I ask what's the % slope, and the Stimp speed of the green?
@UnderParAcres Жыл бұрын
About 1% slope and it rolls about a 10 & 1/2. I’m going to add more soon to get it up to an 11
