I love these kind of videos. It shows what is out there (just like you said). I also love it that you give the prices. Sometimes you see a nice fountain pen and they don't give you a price. You look it up get disappointed because the price is to high for your budget. I fell in love with the twsbi iris (vac), when you showed it. I got it as my graduation present. I had to guess the nib size and went with fine. I am absolutely loving it. I love you enthusiasm in the videos.

Thanks for watching. I hear you on the price surprise. That’s exactly why I like to share it - even if it’s still a little pricey. Congrat on your graduation and your pen gift! Great choice.

I got my first Hinze Pen as well last week at the Philly penshow. I loved the mix of taupe, emerald, maroon and goldenrod in the resin. I picked out a teal color nib in medium. I'm just in love with it and the Diamine honey burst ink I put in it. Congrats on your fun new pens. I have a Visconti Mythos and it's my first pen from this brand. I love the inkflow and the weight of the pen and such a great writer. I love the box that is came in and those Pineider boxes are so classy with the note cards too.

...penshow? Never knew there was such a thing. I am new to the addiction, and I live in a small town on the Oregon coast. Just trying to find a fountain pen in this town is impossible. I been using Atlas Stationary online quite a bit, i'll have to look into this "pen show" business.

That Big Sur pen is gorgeous! I was also looking at Pineider pens on discount, but wasn't as ready to press the button. I'll be interested to hear how you like them inked up to be using on a regular basis.

Those pens are stunning! I just bought my first Lamy and I also got a 5 pk of converters since I have a few bottles of ink and I'm loving it. I need one in every color now, lol

You need the Laban Inks Greek Gods collection Poseidon for the Visconti, I recall it being a great looking ink. (I love their Aphrodite!) The DuPont is sooo cool…great mix of vintage classic style with the curved hooded nib and the modern with the colors and angles…I love a good magnet cap! Have you ever tried a Lamy Left hand nib or their Left Hand Oblique Italic nib? I was curious if you liked it? (On a pen that doesn’t have the Safari grip.) The Pineider is gorgeous…what a great deal you got on it!! I wonder if it comes in a red/black combo (love the black nib!) Maybe send the nib off to a nibmeister for grinding? You might like the Journaler nib that is available on Esterbrook pens? It gives nice character to the writing, I love it, sort of a subtle stub italic. Have you gotten Jess into fountain pens yet? Maybe find a brand that’s not too expensive that appeals to her RoyGBiv sensibility…so she’s gotta collect all the colors…Kaweco Sport? Pilot Kakuno? She might like the smiley faces? Loved the video, great pen haul! Very interesting pens, not the ones you see all the time. Ahhh…Big Sur! I used to live in the Bay Area and I absolutely get it with that pen. Edited to add: for what you want for your collection, I would look at the Edison Elysian…that is a piece of art work and engineering…I’m working on that as a Christmas present. You can even design it from their huge amount of resins! I think you’d like it! (Bonus: small US company owned by a guy who started it in his basement or something, now it’s a family business. Great pens with style.)

I am a newbie to fountain pens and have only purchased about four to see if it is truly a passion for me or just FOMO. I want to know what pens shows you are looking forward to this year and how a newbie should prepare for going to a show. The DC show is very close to me, and I think it would be a really good show to go to. Thank you!!!!

When is the DC pen show? Is it a similar time frame every year? I'm going to be back in NOVA 1-22 Feb, and I'm hoping it might be sometime during that month. That would be really cool to get to go. Thanks.

Hey Mark! I'm attempting to jump into fountain pens and I need your advice. I like a very fine pen (my favorite pen is the g2 .38). Can you recommend a pen that will work very fine lines AND I really love brown ink. Can you help me find this combo?? Thanks and I love your videos.

Hi Mark! As a fellow leftie, are there any nibs you struggle with/don’t enjoy using as much? I’m expanding my collection gently and have fine, medium and one broad nib. I struggle a bit with the broad! But have also just got the new Tom’s Studio Zoom so I’m interested to hear your view on that one if you end up getting one 🤞
@markyourpages6 күн бұрын
I have a few pens with a flex nibs and those can be a little iffy since they lay down a little more ink than usual. I do t know if it’s a lefty thing or just moving fast, but I have moments of smearing when using them. I have a zoom on the way!! Can’t wait to try it. I love my architect nib, so I know I’ll love this one too.

I have set my mind on buying a beautiful fountain pen. I grew up with fountain pens with a long nib or long blade. Don't know if you have one of those😊.
