Adding to our Math Curriculum: Abeka Arithmetic 1 & 2

What material do you feel like needed for math 1. Do you use the test key? Do you get the curriculum lesson plan?

Thank you for the video! My daughter did K5 Abeka Math & I am confident in my decision to continue with Abeka Arithmetic 1 for first grade this next year. She loves workbooks & the colorful pages. I also add my own manipulatives & math games when we are able to. Adding visuals & tactiles really helps!

Though I don’t use Abeka in my homeschool, it has a special place in my heart because I used it for years when I taught in a Christian school.

Just thought I'd say, Teaching Textbooks absolutely has the books only option :) with that said, I found that my second grader could easily do their 3rd grade book. And he is not advanced. So it is a bit "weak" imo. I feel like we have used a lot of maths over the last 3 years. We are trying Abeka this year. So far, my son loves the workbooks! I'm intimidated by Abeka's teacher books, so we'll see how I do teaching it.

Thanks for making this video-so timely for us! I'm looking into Abeka as a change from Horizons for my 3rd grader. Also on the lookout for Kindergarten Math. The Horizons teacher guide was lacking for me, so it's nice to see that Abeka looks like it's super thorough .

We did Masterbook last yr for first grade and it very far behide. I feel like Masterbook Math 1 is more on a K5 leavle

Thanks for sharing - we are currently doing a Arithmetic 1 and will soon be purchasing Arithmetic 2. We are enjoying it. Do you know how does Abeka compare to Horizons Math? Is one more advanced than the other? Thanks.

I have not used Horizons Math so I am not sure how it compares to Abeka. I am really happy with our choice though! :)

I bought the teacher key so that I could grade their work quickly. All that book is are the answers.

Ty 4 this vid c i like mastery but i dont like that its so many lessons on the same thing and then spiral math wuld b good except most of the spiral math ive seen just goes 2 quick b4 my son wuld get it
