I got one of those for my wife's Mini. And it drains your battery 24/7 and tries to connect to your phone constantly (if when the cars off) You will hate it lol

I bought an unit from integrated automotive, based in UK. For my 2012 X3, I used about 1.5 hour to install, but my car have original mic, so I used that one. Works like a charm

why didn't you spend less to just get a linux screen replacement, which doesn't require shoving a giant box somewhere in your dash? I got the "Bonroad" one for my e60 on Aliexpress, and after a few initial bugs, has been working like a charm... no secondary mic install needed, and touchscreen functionality too. EDIT: man, the further I get in the video, the more questions I have about why you picked this janky solution :(

I love it; it feels reasonably well made and I wear it every day and it takes a beating. I'm looking at some 70s Omegas right now just to get something a little more svelte on my tiny wrists but I love the iconic pepsi GMT style.

OEM looking upgrades/installs are always the best (except when they leave you with the worst bit of the oem install - the i-drive interface 😬 ) Either way, it's fab that people are making these kind of upgrades for old cars now - just a shame it's such a limited number of makes/models.

The struggle is friggin real man , to get that CUBE connector back in ... holy sh1t. Nearly burned down my car because of the rage i was getting hahaha. The CCC unit just doesn't wanna go in with that big block ffs

Mazda daily driver guy here... The knobs suck for commissioning, but are GREAT! for actual driving... If you get it setup right, you can do every essential thing within 2 clicks.... with a bit of practice, you'll do it without looking. Let's face it, while driving you only do 2 or 3 things (unless your a tool driver who's driving all over the road on their way to a future Darwin award.) The I-Drive system works brilliantly WHILE driving, but is awkward as hell while parked, thus it's bad reviews from persons in parked cars... It's about driving with it. review it that way if you can figure out how.

Last year I bought a 2015 F150. I was extremely disappointed to find out my version of Sync doesn’t support CarPlay. After some research I’m probably boing to switch out to a newer unit. Never had CarPlay but I want it.

if you have the early version of Sync 3 there is a kit online to easily convert it to where you have wired Android Auto and Apple Car Play and the main work is replacing the USB ports in the little cubby in front of the console shifter

Wow, it's literally intercepting the raw display data. That is a pretty hardcore way to solve the problem, the market for these things must be sufficiently large for this product to exist at all.

hi can someone help me I bought the same one for CCC I plugged it in at first and worked! but then I can to make space for the box, so I unplugged the wires, and when I unplugged the gps antenna black and blue on CCC the screen faded and is gone never came back. my screen just flashes and goes blank every time i start the car now please help!

Its great. Looks good, keeps okay time. Problem is I have tiny wrists and these seiko movements are kinda chunky. Looking at some cheaper 70s Omega automatics.

The first iDrive predates your 5 series by about 10 years. I had a 740i as a rental for about three weeks in either 98 or 99.. Just long enough to find out exactly what a dumpster fire it was. Touch the controller, and about 2 seconds later the car would respond. Absolute trash.

01 was the first year of idrive. Was in the e65 7-series. Fully agree the first generation is garbage.

Ugh that is genuinely not great... Integrated cars are so frustrating to upgrade... I want carplay in the Prius so bad but I can't justify getting rid of my settings that are built into the head unit for the car.
