This concerto is the best known work by Glazunov - if not the only one. It is a beautiful and melodic one. The idea of the fanfar opening the final is awesome. The rendering by Itzhak Perlman and Zubin Mehta as conductor is more than excellent.

Glazunov's piano concerto No. 1 is just as good and the No. 2 close.

@@gerardbegni2806 all great music. I must say I'm surprised Glazunov's name is not more widely known. I admit lately I've come across some incredible composers on KZbin I didn't know about. Some only composed few pieces but beautiful. One of the positives of KZbin. Cheers!

The warmth is a genuine warmth in the opening of the 2nd movement.. doesn’t sound line a bunch of horse hair digging into metal strings
