Ascolto Corelli , Del Monaco ed altri, (tutti cantanti grandi a modo loro) più adoro il vero canto appassionato e mirato di Di Stefano che sicuramente aveva una marcia in più a differenza degli altri con la sua passione che ti inchiodava alla sedia ... Non occorrono libretti e comprendevi tutto e questa luminosità , chiarezza , dizione, recitazione è solo unicamente di Pippo ... Memorabili le ovazioni del pubblico!!!!

I've read he sings it at a slower pace, a semi-tone lower, who cares! Listen to the humanity, texture, personality he gives to the role. He makes Edgardo a real person. A marvelous interpretation, an incredible performance.

A semitono lower. It makes it warmer and easier to sing for juicier tenor voices. Anybody knows if that is acceptable nowadays?

I do not know, but I think, that is not really important. The young singers often are pushed to much. An halftone less, why not?
