How to find the remainder?

It's very simple, if you are simplifying 5+6 in base 8, then: 5+6 in base 10 is 11, so then 11-8 = 3. So the remainder is 3. So 5+6 in base 8 is 13(base 8)

Base is all about stacking numbers in bundles just that way you arrange your currency notes in bundles of notes. Depending on the base you are dealing, if you are carrying out addition operation ask yourself how many bundles of that base you can get out of the total number you get then you write down the 'extra" that is the remainder
