Hey Donabel! I loved your videos been your subscriber & great news is I landed my new Tableau job watching & understanding your videos. Thanks for all your exploration, insights & analytical thinking you provide in your videos. Hope to see more, also are you planning to make videos on SQL, Tableau Server & Tableau Prep. There is a new tool for ETL transformation called Alteryx, which has been making some wave in IT industry. If you could make video on ETL tools between Prep & Alteryx it would be great. Also will there be Custom SQL for Tableau related videos in future. Kudos to you this is gold mine of information on Tableau & hope to see this channel grow by leaps & bounds.

Congratulations Girish! That is amazing news, and so happy to hear that! And thank you for your suggestions! Yes I am hoping to add more content soon on other concepts and tools, and will definitely consider topics you mentioned. Custom SQL - I can cover this, and possibly other best practices. Where possible we try to avoid custom SQL and try to handle the queries at the database/data source level, instead of embedding them in Tableau. I'll try to address them in another video.

Hi Donabel, how would you solve the grand total error where the grand total from the analysis tap is not the same as what we expected it to be? especially when the field that we are using is a table calculated field? Your help will be much appreciated! :)
@sqlbelle3 жыл бұрын
Apologies for a much delayed response Jessica .. would you be able to elaborate what you mean by the total not being what you expected it to be? There are cases where the total may be a different aggregation (for example, an average instead of a sum). Also COUNTD typically gets confusing because COUNTD isn't additive.

I watched almost all videos of yours on Tableau Desktop and the instructional method is too good and puts almost everything In head. Thanks for the ENCOURAGEMENT. Do you have course on Tableau Prep but on Advanced Level?

I started my first business analyst job and your video has been really helpful! Would you please do a video on how you deal with no data? My company use Remedy and I'm connected to live data. My manager want me to track a particular type of ticket in the past 7 days. However, in the past 7 days we did not received that type of ticket and Tableau shows a blank sheet. When I set the date range to 2 weeks the graph show up again because we did received that type of ticket on the previous week. I tried the ZN and ISNULL function but it did not worked. I was hoping Tableau would show zeros for the last 7 days.

This is a great suggestion, thank you TH I will definitely consider creating a video on this. There are a few strategies we can consider. One of which will be to create another data source that only has dates, so we can report even on missing dates.

Mam, are you providing training on Tableau.
@sqlbelle3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Sridar - I provide different kinds of trainings right now, one through BCIT - www.bcit.ca/study/courses/comp2256 . I also provide some corporate trainings. I am still developing a program that I can offer for anyone who wants to be trained from the ground up, possibly an online live course. Is this something that you would be interested in knowing more about?
