I have SO MANY routines, and they definitely help. I have actually stayed up all night before, afraid to be late for something important in the morning, since several hours can be not enough time to get out the door when I aim to. For me, streamlining belongings to a little more than essentials, and giving everything a place where it belongs, and putting everything all the way away, no matter how boring that is... these all help....Then I am less distracted. I always still think I can deal with "one more thing" before heading out the door. Getting rid of items in the house, and putting away what I keep into cabinets or closets has also lessened my anxiety.

The strategy of working backward from where you need to end up is very effective for me. Combining that with planning to be at an appointment 15 minutes early allows me to be on time 90% of the time. A concrete plan rather than going by feel plus the extra buffer time for when you get distracted or other complications come up is usually enough to avoid being late. The flip side is that I'm often waiting with nothing to do and I have anxiety when I don't have the buffer time (especially when others are responsible for us losing that buffer).

This has been very helpful. I am rewatching and taking notes. Recently diagnosed, in my 40s, explains so much.

Thousands of appointments on my phone! When I have to be there, when I have to leave, and when I have to start preparing at home. And lately I started to include the date and hour in the text of the cell phone calendar, because otherwise I will be confused: if I have to be at the dentist’s office at 11 am, my alarm will be set for 10.30 because this would be roughly enough to prepare and get there. But two weeks from now I won’t be sure if 10.30 is the actual appointment with the dentist, or… 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ha! I used to stretch the truth about not getting stuff done but that only made me feel worse! Fortunately I figured this out many years ago so at least I don't have to deal with that anymore.😊😊

I over estimate how long a boring task will take then procrastinate then discover the dreaded boring thing took minutes to do, then get mad at myself for procrastinating.

Hi, some direct feedback from my own severe ADHD perspective.Talking to people who are easily distracted while you are trying to teach the all important skills of time management. Increases distracted thoughts of the viewer. Yes you are a helper by nature, but this just shows you bouncing from one screen to anothet. Teach instead about how multitasking does Not serve the ADHD brain, teach how al these systems "pillars" are helpful, save time and conseve precious brain energy. Teach the higher level skill of meta cogentinition which has helped me greatly w procrastination. While your in this conversational YT mode, when you are sharing important content you say umm a lot, again this is an opportunity to model an internal management of your communication style, take a beat, take a breath. Have a strong outline. Also you mentioned a schedule/planner without showing or demonstrating it. Or even putting link in show notes. On the very good side, Your energy/ presence was upbeat and consistent. I like your hair, it is much fuller and softer. I might guess that you have had a color analysis, because you present on screen very pulled together, and taking this time does build confidence. Thiese notes are meant constructively, and I believe will build viewership. And now I am going to the gym.
