My favorite’s are the fancy pen, tray ( and yes I have your tray and I love it!) and I like to use a gift card to start out every painting and every row thereafter.

I would agree re the storage I use my 60 pot box for all my projects and the smaller boxes I bought in haste I now use to store my specials ie special shaped diamond and pearled diamonds. I used another light source before I started using the light pad, I had it for my other crafts and it works well for them all. Its an led light that sits on my shoulders and drops down around my neck it has 3 settings and is re- chargeable. A pen you feel comfortable with, I have 4 of the special pretty pens but still use the pinks now and again. I have an A2 easel from previous crafts but last Christmas my husband bought me a smaller easel. Its actually an easel for cookery books it has the addition of two arms that can be used to hold the position of the painting and or the light pad. I think the plastic clips to hold your canvas to the light pad are a great find. I've been diamond painting just over a year and I'm hooked.

One thing I would like to add if I may? Light pads are great, but if you are using them for prolonged periods please ensure the room around you is also well lit to avoid eye strain 🥰 Sitting in a dark room, staring at a bright light pad is very bad for your long term eye health 💜

The light pads that have multiple settings are wonderful. You can turn down the brightness in the evening, when the room is not as bright.

I have an easel, light pad, beautiful pen, one of your trays. Love them all. Can't do diamond painting without them now.

I cannot live without four of the five things that you said. I don't use an easel every time only if I'm sitting in the recliner. I would also add that you have to have good wax that you don't have to replenish every 10 minutes. I have one of your trays and I adore it. I had two of them but I gave one to my sister. One of these days I'm going to order a couple more.

For those crafters like me who are older and less financial. 1/ Lightpad + lamp. 2/ Easel/Sloped surface. 3/ Thicker Pen, different nib/tip. 4/ESD13 tweezers (rounded end ones). 5/Storage. 6/ magnifying glasses. 7/trays -Lightpad is essential with a reading lamp nearby for seeing what's in the tray. -Sloped surface. The desktop easel didn't work for me as I'm too short to work with it efficiently so I have a board that's on my desk sloped to the right amount for me. I've also padded the edge of the desk so that I'm not destroying the painting as I lean on it when it's hanging down. -Thicker pen is essential to avoid strain injuries, hand and wrist. The stainless steel tip helps there as well. -Tweezers with the rounded edges are easier to use when picking up diamonds/rhinestones (I don't send my diamonds flying all over the room like I do with the pointed ones) -Storage - I started out with TicTac boxes, they have been retired and I now use the bottle cases for the most part. -Trays for me aren't too much of an issue, I'm happy with just the big tray on AliExpress with a couple of small ones usually for rubbish etc. -For those crafters with eyesight issues the magnifying glasses are a absolute essential piece of equipment and well worth the cost. There are lots of things that are preferences like wax/glue dots/nano tape etc - that's up to you. As time has gone on I have plenty of things that have been added to the equipment list that make my life a little easier and maybe a little more fun (or less irksome) but these things aren't as essential. The one thing I will say, don't fall for the 'bling' stuff (even pens) unless you can really afford it, I find the beauty is in the painting and I would much rather spend money on them than 'stuff'.

Thanks for a very informative video I use all 5 items - I have multiple storage cases, pens and your trays, I wasn’t sure about the easel but if I’m working at my craft table I can diamond paint without it.

I have (finally) invested in all the items you have mentioned, in a different order, with the tray being last (and hasn’t arrived yet), after diamond painting for over 2 years. I find, to me, the most useful are the pens, the easel and a pot system (I have used the 28 pots joined in 7 rows of 4 for my dping the whole time). I never use a light pad, even though I have one. I find that my tabletop easel placed directly under an overhead light is enough light for me. And I can’t wait for my new tray, I am fining my hand cramps holding the smaller trays

I think everything that you said and in the order you said in is perfect and it gives you an understanding on how you can expand you can start and be comfortable but when you start expanding on things that you need you'll get comfortable and you won't want to put it down it's just something that's addictive it's so much fun and relaxing to do this so I hope everybody enjoys every bit of time and painting they do because I love mine and I've only been doing it a week

Absolutely agree, although I would add release paper as I use on every canvas where I don't always use a lightpad

The pen and eisle were a surpose to hear. But thinking about it makes sense. I've completed my first diamond painting and I'm thinking of buying a container of sorts to store the diamonds while I work coz it took me 3 weeks to do a 40x30cm painting. Storing them in the small ziplock bags was hard towards the end coz they wore down and some of them popped. For now I'm gonna save up for the storage then I'll list an order of priority for the other ones. Thank you for the recommendations!

I agree with your top 5 except for me a light pad would be #2 and tray #3. The reason is I have trouble seeing the symbols on most canvases even with progressive lenses. There are times I cannot tell a symbol apart even though the unboxing I watched talked about how clear they are and does not appear there would be any issues. I understand the audience may not have difficulty seeing close up, but I do. One kit I reversed for about a quarter of the kit a G and 6 and another kit I could not differentiate between a 5 and 6. Seems there would not be an issue, but it also depends on the font the manufacturer is using sometimes too.

I think this was exactly spot on for 5 essential products to get. My first 2 paintings I did were with the tools that came with the kit. I quickly discovered I could not lean over the painting for any length of time, nor could I see the symbols once it got dark out. I had a small light pad that was used for another hobby and a lap tray that tilted for a computer. I immediately started using those 2 items and it changed my world. I quickly updated both when I did my first 40 x 50 painting. I have a very large desk easel and an A2 lightpad that is used for every diamond painting I do, except off canvas items. I tried many many different trays, but now, with all honesty, I only use yours. I have purchased 3 normal size and 3 zesty size and I don't use anything else. They are the absolute perfect fit for my hands. I have neither large nor small hands. I will admit, I am addicted to pens and storage and have an abundance of both, but the bottle storage is my favorite. I change my pens according to the painting I'm working on and I have changed all the tips to have the full stainless steel tips. I don't have a specific favorite because I love them all. This was a great video for not only beginners, but for everyone who loves this hobby. Thank you so much for sharing!

A good rechargeable high lumen flashlight is a must also. If you get a canvas with lots of really dark blurry symbols a light pad is not strong enough. Especially if you have bad eyes like me

I've been diamond painting for a year now after seeing a friend's paintings. I have got another 3 pens coming and have just bought 2 large trays. I have loads of storage but I need to get an easel now. I can't imagine not diamond painting anymore, I'm addicted. I'm working on a 80x120 african elephant sunset now,

I don't use an easel as my desk is just right for me. I have a lightpad but only use it on hard to see symbols. So far I needed it only a couple of times. The one thing I do use with every painting is parchment paper.

I find that because I tend to dp such monstrous images the easel doesn't work for me. In fact it causes more pain and strain than laying the image flat on my desk does.

I would LOVE if your trays where stackable and you could bye a lid for it so you could have drills in 3-4 trays, stack them and put a lid on the top one if you had to take a break, so animal hair and dust didn't come into the trays. Just an idea 😉

I just write the color number and "number number" (1. color, 2.color...last color number run) on torn slip of paper and put the slip into each bottle. I have also put the slip into the top - and been able to read what color is inside that bottle. should I google this in my language ? would it be any more readable what I am trying to tell here?
