The main requirement for setting up an address locator is that you have a reference data set. Essentially, what happens is that each address you want to map is matched to the same address in the reference data set. It doesn't really matter what format it is in, as long as it is the same format as the data you are trying to map. For example, if you had a reference data set of world cities in GIS format, you could map cities in a list by comparing it to that reference data. I hope this helps.

Hi, DON Boyes, Thanks for this tutorial. I have a question: If we need work in a city which don´t exist any "codes" for a clasical adress, it´s possible to use adress locator? For ex. one same direction can be "Mcal. Lopez 1524"or "Avda. Mcal. F. S. Lopez c/ Brasilia". We don´t have clasicals technics for adress. Please, your answer is very important. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the tutorial. Do you know where can I find the street shape files?

Try searching for "gis open data" and either "centerline" or "road" or streets" and you will likely find something, although it depends on the location. For example, Toronto data can be found here: www1.toronto.ca/wps/portal/contentonly?vgnextoid=9acb5f9cd70bb210VgnVCM1000003dd60f89RCRD&vgnextchannel=7807e03bb8d1e310VgnVCM10000071d60f89RCRD

I'm afraid I've got a lot going on these days and haven't had time to create practice data sets, but you can search online for things like "gis open data" and you'll find a lot of data sets out there.

Your clicks sound is up way to much very annoying. But otherwise thanks for video

Totally agree! That was older softer that automatically added those click sounds - I don't use it anymore. Glad you liked it otherwise though.
