Well, I'm taking a course with terrible instructions on how to get this data. Looks like this video is much clearer, but unfortunately this data is, in 2023, out of date. Thanks, though!

I've been struggling to 'zoom' into a particular glacier using Landsat. I've tried the polgon etc but it still is showing me the larger footprint, which when exported to ArcGis the glacier in question just isn't visible! Pls help!

Hi Don, Thank you so much for your informative video and your efforts are much appreciated. Please I have an inquiry as below: I have downloaded some data from Earth Explorer (Landsat 8). I am able to load individual raster bands by dragging and drop in the view window of ArcMap, but when I try to load the whole set through MTL.txt, it gives me an error. In addition, when I press the "+" sign on an MTL.txt file in the catalog window, nothing appears, and the "+" vanishes. I initially thought that the file might be corrupted so I downloaded various other raster sets from EarthExplorer, and all of them have the same problem. Could you please advise me on how can I sort out this issue, I am using ArcMap version 10.7.1?!

I have not encountered this myself, but I wonder if this page might be of help: support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000020632 I’m hoping it’s something relatively simple like making sure the data set is on the C: drive.

great explanation, but i faced critical problem in that i proposed to under take phd study in acertain water shed and with in the water shed there is meteorological station i am gong to use, but the station mises parametres but , in 30 km distance from my study area there is guaged station with full parametres, so how can i interpolate/ downscale to my watershed ? help me
@DonBoyes2 жыл бұрын
If I understand correctly, you would need sample points spread across both watersheds with your full set of parameters in order to be able to interpolate values within the watershed that is missing data. If that is not possible, then you would be extrapolating beyond the data you have, which is much more difficult to do (or impossible) as opposed to interpolating within a know set of data values. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hello Don, I've use your video in the past and it did help me a lot. However it's looks like the Open Data have change and to be honest I've hard time to navigate through and find the DEM data I'm looking for. If I'm correct, I see they call it HDEM now and that I've to go through province web data. I'm trying to find Quebec data which I couldn't. If your able to give some advise that would be very appreciated. Cheers

sir how do i download landsat imagery of a large area for example a state? you response is highly appreciated
@DonBoyes3 жыл бұрын
You would have to download the images individually, and then create a raster mosaic. You can find instructions here: desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/manage-data/raster-and-images/creating-a-mosaic-dataset.htm

TNM Download (v2.0) Doesn"t show me squat. No selection, now download cart. Nada. Crap, non-intuitive interface that says "Do a search" under products. Great! I've defined my area of interest with a bounding box, polygon...whatever. Nothing shows in the product tab. Useless.
