I watched a documentary by Henry Lewis Gates about racism in Latin countries, it's pretty extreme. Historically and at present people are labeled based on their skin color and it is extreme. In their Hall of government, they have potraits of latin people and based on the color of the skin, the people are placed into specific groups. I rember in Brazil when a very beautiful dark brown woman was selected as Carnival queen or something and the country started featuring her in ads to promote Carnival, people complained that her skin was too dark. The officials replaced her before the event with a very light skin person. When Obama was running for president my work associate, a latina, and I talked all the time about everything. She had told her family she was voting for Obama, her mother told her she couldn't. Her only reason was that Obama is black. This attitude Latin Americans have as well as the attitudes from Native Americans, Asians, Indians, and any where else around the world toward dark black people will never change. They all learned from the biggest racist in the world, yt people. They all still want to be accepted by yt people. It is now 2022, racism is not going anywhere.

Contrary to their monolithic treatment by many Americans, Latinos have always been very diverse -- economically, culturally and in their ethnic and national origins. That is a lie. Black people's response to the racism imposed upon them is not racism. To be relatively sane in America Black people live in a constant state of rage. Black people are hated because after everything that is done to us, we still thrive, people copy and steal Black culture. We are hated because we refuse to suffer in silence or smile at our enemies or stop fighting for what is rightfully ours. Education is sorely needed because America can't compete globally with half the population being ignorant, uninformed and willfully stupid. Black people have fought and died alone most of the time and helped the very people who think we're going to allow their disrespect. Black people are through helping everyone else achieve but they want to climb over on our backs. No we will not. Every enemy is going to be exposed. The African diaspora is not going to wait any longer. Now and us is our attitude going forward. Latinos are going to be on their own. It’s really annoying to hear anyone say, “their action don’t represent all” or “not all…” The same could be said about white people. All white people aren’t racist either, but the vast majority turn a blind eye or think, because it hasn’t affected them directly there’s nothing they can say or do about it. Not to mention, many benefit from racism systematically. I’ve been on this Earth for 54 yrs and have been around the “Latino” community for many of those yrs. I can wholeheartedly say that although “not all Hispanics” have that bias, or WS racist mindset, the vast majority don’t see it as an issue unless it directly affects them. Also, if it does directly affect them, as in the case with Florida, they more than likely welcomed it thinking that they weren’t going to be the target, and when they become the target they asked for Black people to stand with them. However, once Black people declined to help them fight, suddenly their true feeling about Black people shine through simply for being told NO. Miss me with the “Not all…”

Can we PLEASE STOP saying things like “brown” when referring to “Latinos”? “Latino” is NOT a race. And can we PLEASE STOP calling it a “community”? because it’s not… For starters, “Latino” means you speak a language derived from LATIN. So that would mean that Latin America consists of 19 Spanish-Speaking Countries, Brazil (Portuguese-Speaking), AND Haiti, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Martin, French Guiana, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, and (technically Quebec, plus Acadians) because these are French-Speaking places…. And even within the Spanish-Speaking countries we are very diverse, with completely different cultures, accents, music, etc. So how are we a community?? Not to mention there’s no UNITY, among us so we can’t call ourselves a commUNITY…. Most importantly, “brown” people are South Asians like Indians, Bengalis, Sri Lankans, Pakistanis, etc. Those stereotypical “brown” people the society SWEARS are what “Latinos” are supposed to look like are predominantly Native Americans with European and yes, believe it or not, African ancestry. 60% of (Spanish-Speaking) Latinos AKA Hispanics are of mixed ancestry. 25% of us are white people, yes, white people. 10% of us are Indigenous. And for some reason some people still don’t know this, but about 3% of are black people , like myself. We are extremely marginalized, ignored, discriminated against, overlooked, disrespected, and forgotten about. So there shouldn’t be any surprise that there’s anti-blackness in the “Latino Community”…. There are also very small populations of Middle Eastern, and East Asian people in Latin America…. Our genetic makeup on average consists of about 53% European ancestry, 36% Indigenous ancestry, and 11% African ancestry. Which obviously varies from one person to the next. Bottom line, we are NOT a race…..

As an afro-latino, I've grown up seeing both sides of the fence. My dad's side of the family is black, and my mom's side is Spanish. During family get togethers, on occasion friends of my extended family would visit. They were usually latino as well. Thinking they were in the presence of only latinos, I would sometimes here racial slurs about black people. My cousins would quickly correct them, b/c we were their black family members, and they had positive experiences with us all their life; however, I heard almost as many racial stereotypes and negative racial comments against the black community by latinos as I have from white communities. The big difference is that I see the white community largely changing and atoning for the sins of their fathers. However, the latino community stays stagnant b/c they have not changed their mindset, they still think they are doing nothing wrong nor do they think they are part of the problem.

Firstly, I am a black man and I am not a democrat or republican. Secondly, there must be more that she said that i did not see in this video because I didn't see any anti-blackness in her statements. What I heard was her saying that a black kid was misbehaving. She pointed out that there was a white man who she assumed had guardianship over that black child and she assessed that the scene looked like the trope of white parents not disciplining their unruly child. Now when you factor that into the mix it seems to me she really was saying that she believes this child needed to be told not to behave in a way that the white man was allowing and that she would add the discipline that this child obviously seem to be missing. Are we now becoming that boy that cried wolf? Outside of politics there has always been a "black and brown" coalition in the ghettos were we have been regulated to. I am from NYC and this black vs brown agenda is foreign to me. now to be truthful there are blacks against hispanics and hispanics against blacks in isolated incidents but that is only a small percentage of the daily interactions between two groups who really are the same. the only real difference is one slave master taught his slaves english (britain) and the other slave master taught his slaves spanish (spain). after that the two groups were pitted against each other to instill the divide and conquer tactics that still shows it's affects with this brown vs black narrative that is so dangerous and being pushed so hard right now. she, from the snippet shown in this video, was pointing out a misbehaving child and because the child was black we are supposed to automatically see it as racism from one of our hispanic sisters and not see it as a disciplinary issue? now, do not misjudge my sentiment. i know that we have self hatred in our communities. and regardless of the last 400 years of subjugation and degradation and division i still see our hispanic/latino brothers and sisters as our family and nothing will change that. nothing. the children of hispanic slaves are not the same as the children of the conquistadors. the children of the hispanic slaves are the same as the children of black slaves. and just because some hispanics, children of hispanic slaves and those conquered/colonized, are light skin does not mean that they are now not our people because of their light skin and straighter hair... if that is the case then all blacks who are light skin and/or do not have the kinkiest/whooly hair should be dismissed as being black too. and lastly, many see hispanics with lighter skin and say "see they can not be black like us"... well, spain had over a 100 year head start in reshaping the world and complexion of our hispanic brothers and sisters that they conquered starting in the 1400's before the british had there impact on who we call blacks today. there is more to say but my comment is long already.

As a black born European, from generations ago, I naturally connect with African ancestry more than my European part, yet my family has been in Europe for centuries ago! I can't understand what makes those so calls'' Latinos think they are white and Latinos when no one has ever heard of them before Columbus got here! History tells us exactly the combination and the making of these people who called themselves''Latinos! People from Dominican Republic, México, and all the south America are mostly African and Native Indians! Most of the Taino's naturally have yellow skin tone, and when you mixed Yellow with Chocolate you will ended up with an Olive skin tone, and that is how those people became a nation! Being colonized by the Europeans, most of them have lost their original native dialect, they now, learned Spanish from their masters! As a result, they think they are Spanish because they have learned the language! Reality is, most of them don't even have a tiny blood line with the Spainards, but they all think their ancestors came from Spain because they speak Spanish!

@@matt5938 No, sir, you are wrong about Brazil; the majority of Brazilians are mixed race! If you knew history, you would know that Brazil was so black; they have purposely imported white Europeans to Brazil to diminish black people! However, you can't erase black, no matter how hard they tried! There is a reason why Latinos are not white is that there was not such a nation called ''Latino'' before 1492! Latin is derived from Hebrew to Greek, then to the rest of the European nation, and none of them called themselves Latinos! You have to understand that Africans are the first ever created on this earth, so if anyone is ''Latino'', it has got to be Africans because they are the roots of all human life! That is why all other nations have African DNA!

Sweetheart just to let you know, don’t school us on our history and assume we all think and act the same. In Mexico for example, we don’t like Spaniards or Mr. Cortez very much, because of the history. Next time you want to educate someone on their culture, just don’t.

@@user-rw2dr5my1s &Yes, I am in the position to educate those who pretend they are something better then black people. If Nuri Martinez, Kevin De Leon, and all the other idiots new their history, they would have much better appreciation for black people because we are the mother of all creations, including the whites. History tells us that. No one is above us, we know that, and that is why we are not walking and attacking other ethnicities! We are not a racist nation, we welcome everyone, and respect anyone who respects us! However, we will defend ourselves to the fullest, and reject those who with negative attitudes! We are not bashing other people, but we are the proudest nonwhite nation on this earth, and all the others are shameful of themselves, and that is sickening! My daughter was in a kindergarten class of mostly Latino children. She was the only black girl, there was one black boy, and one white boy. They mercilessly teased my daughter daily. She told me, "being Black means I'm dirt." This is what the children drove her to. That is learned and modeled behavior. The racism can be there but its not always present because I have had so many other positive relationships with Latinos in my community.

That was _NOT_ what she said at all. I know mexicans and latinos can be racist. In fact, I antagonistically looked up this video just to see if anybody else sees the undertones. But the actual point she made was that "Black" and "Brown" people are raised different, and certain behaviors look just as strange on them as they do on white kids. Hiwever, whites have a very _VERY_ socially liberal culture, which withoholds discipline. She didn't want that kid goijg down that same path. Learn to analyze without emotion.

I don't get this. I have Latino friends who are darker than so-called Black people. So should they hate themselves? Are they hated by the lighter skin Latinos? Make it make sense. The racist mental illness in the Latino/Hispanic community is surfacing. Many so-called Black Americans stood strong for Latinos back in the day when WS wanted all of them back across the border. To be honest mate you can blame your own community for that. I’m white jewish and I’ve experienced racism from both whites and blacks but the only people who have violently attacked me are blacks. Black men ages 16-25 represent 3% of the black community yet nationally commit over half of violent crimes mate. You can’t blame people for being prejudice. I don’t want to be but I have to for my own safety. And a lot of us are fed up with being blamed for black peoples own personal communal issues. And what’s even more sad is when blacks speak up about this fellow blacks call them uncle toms and “pretending to be white” guys like Clarence Thomas, Larry elder, Candace Owens, Kanye west experience hate from their own community.
