You're doing fine. You could've phrased things a little kinder, but the stuff you said wasn't inherently bad, and you had a lot of good tips. I recommend making a video that is "Five good things to do in an audition" cuz that is still giving feedback, but with a more positive note. Praising instead of discouraging.

i joined because of the 5 mistakes video and i am eager audition (eventually idk i gotta learn a song and the one person i can voice is already taken)

This is coming from another fandub owner. I definitely understand certain phrases being annoying, but as you said, the most important thing is the voice and skill. If the voice actor is truly skilled, they script doesn't matter. As long as they are able to make their voice right and read it with the emotions intended, what is actually being said doesn't affect the quality at all. It is perfectly reasonable to not want that in your auditions, but to say that it lessens the quality is very untrue. You are judging how they say it, not what they say (again, still perfectly reasonable to prefer formality. From what you've said, Cool Sekai isn't a formal dub, so I personally don't see why guidelines must be so strict).

@@NowPlayingUntitled the guidelines are there for consistency’s sake + the guidelines aren’t even too strict anyways. as long as you just read out an introduction + a couple of quotes from the character, you’ll be fine. your other points are correct though

I feel like your previous video is nice, but it could be worded better. I also do agree with your points. Also, I'm currently auditioning for Mizuki, and your tips helped a lot!! Even the advice channel on the server helped me a lot! In conclusion, just be a bit softer with your words!

Im probably gonna get some hate if those people were mad about what you said but I think your opinion was honestly fine. Yes some words could be worded differently but people shouldn’t be scared to audition because thats just how it is. On ccc you go against thousands of people who volunteered like you and it’s up to how to deliver the lines that decides the fact that you get chosen. Some directors are at your throats about turning in lines and how you voice characters because thats how some productions work. Strict rules help a production function properly without turning it into a hellfire and im not really sure why people would even be so mad or upset about what you say. This video shouldn’t really have been necessary. Alright im gonna shut up before I get yelled at

@@Munchkit Yeah, I don’t get why people treat me having a serious comedy fandub as a bad thing. If you don’t like it, join a different fandub.

fellow va director to va director, I get what you mean in the first vid, but yes it could have been worded much better. Good luck with future endeavors, though. With the bad rep the vid you made people are probably going to assume "oh this director is rude and harsh, best not to audition" (same experience)(edit: people treat mistakes really harsh in directing stuff like these, because usually make one mistake and people will no longer support). Hope you dont beat yourself up over wording mistakes and keep doing what you love
