Nah, gay is a term that is used colloquially to refer to any member of the lgbtqia2s+ community. Evan identified himself as a member of the a-spec community as a demisexual, which is the A in that list of letters. Thus, he is not gay as in homosexual, but as a member of the lgbtqia2s+ community, some people welcome him to identify as gay. 👍 It's more about how he identifies himself and I don't think he identifies that way, so it wouldn't be appropriate to call him that.
