It's so easy to watch a match and be confused at someones decisions. These people need to step up and record their games and see how different it is lol
@larando0218 күн бұрын
Exactly this! Even just playing on WiFi is so much more different than on Showdown, that people forget you don't have the luxury of a cancel button if you missclick and can't take that long per turn. And having to do meaningfull commentary in the mean time is so much to handle as well!
@08Juan8012 күн бұрын
Yeeep. Even the opponent themselves can be confused by someone's decisions. It did happen to me. I missed an obvious kill, and my opponent was a bit confused. They were good sport at least, and did ask me afterwards out of curiosity. People love to throw hate (not constructive criticism, just hate) for no reason, then they do these same kind of mistakes.
@SquadLeaderSean18 күн бұрын
I'll never understand the hate people bring to this game. Competitive pokemon draft league has to be one of the most niche nerdy subcultures out there, and the people that play it are there because they're passionate about it and want to have a good time. Yet people that don't even compete get so egotistical and judgmental over a game that's meant to be played for fun. Truly has to be some of the lamest and most juvenile behavior out there.

That’s fandom for you. Whether pop-culture (Star Wars, Disney, DC, MCU), gaming (LoL, Smash Bros, Pokemon, etc), music industry, etc, anything with a fandom means people of all types come together…. And people on this planet are known to always be fighting with each other. Gotta just keep doing what you love and ignore the haters. Same will go in real life. People will support you when you’re doing worse than they are, but when you are doing better? Many of those same people will start making sly remarks.

It's sad that people can't tell how much effort actually goes into doing stuff like this. It's not just picking a team and battling other people. If the people that were just being brain-dead in the comments were put in a draft league against solid players they would quickly understand how hard it is to build a team for a league, run mocks, strategize, discuss with people, and then battle the opponent they've been planning around that whole week. To me they are just disconnected with the whole thing. They watch just because they want to see you win, and don't understand how you can make "simple or crazy mistakes" when they have no idea how much effort it really takes.

As the individual opponent in the Joey battle, I was gobsmacked at how pressed the community was over that battle. With all the work we put into the content and the good vibes between coaches, I have little other recourse than to believe that the commentators who crow "why did you throw" or whatever are nothing more than keyboard trolls. Instead of treasure they latch onto whatever the latest shiny video is an look for something to whimper about. It is up to us to create content for ourselves and for those who are there to enjoy it. Been in a league for a couple seasons and while I'm arguably bad competitively, I have made several huge brain plays, preps and drafts, we even some awards pre-playoffs and I am the player with the most awards wom, either as a solo coach, co-op coach or i when took over a team. Everything before and after a season is pretty chill, lots of wishes we have as coaches pre-season and a lot of retrospect we have post-season, but when the season is on? We take it serious, sometimes too serious in fact, often spending hours team building for at least 5 pokemon they can run away with the game if they run something hyper specific, and what the fucking peanut gallery never gets is that we have to play with all those scenarios in mind, using the showdown calculator for HOURS on end too, outside and inside of battles I think some part of it is bits of protagonist syndrome where they (the peanut gallery) sees the better play and think they are already better because they would def not make that mistake And yeah, viewers are great, I've never had a single bad interaction with them or spectators in the league I've been in. Respect the video and your objectively correct take on this Keep slaying.

The difference in how you treat a match when you're spectating vs when you're an active participant is staggering. So I could never understand the thought process of thinking you actively have to try to mess up in these game when that's quite easy to do sometimes. Constructive criticism is one thing, but talking down on someone, ESPECIALLY when it comes to some damn pokemon draft league stuff will always be a sport for weirdos. We can't change the past. One of my recent mistakes was not killing a Corviknight when I had the perfect chance. I did end up winning, yeah, but I did not see that kill at all. Imagine if it were a more threatening mon that I didn't kill. I also do bad switches thinking the mon being swapped would take hits well, but then it doesn't. Anyway, my point is: People need to have a bit of empathy. You are great Nexus. Next league, you will win for us. For the believers. For you. To show the haters that they are wrong. Wait did you delete the negative comments in the last vid? There’s legit maybe 1 or 2 negative comments that just said you threw. The rest are overwhelmingly positive

Pokemon is a silly game, and as adults playing the game we forget there are children without filters watching Pokemon on YT that are completely ignorant to the feelings of others, I know its hard to ignore the hate and toxicity, but there are a lot of supporters in the comments too, mistakes happen so you just gotta pick your head up move on to the next one, I think my big take away from this season is that you have made Abomasnow and Salamence look like they belong in OU again so there are definitely positives within a losing season going on as well. That damn horse just slowed you down in the beginning. But the Necrozma has been a great fit. You got this Nexus, and I hope you keep competing in these Draft Seasons, your big break is coming sooner or later, that hax bug is just a tough bitch to beat sometimes. Keep your head up my guy! ✌️

This sucks man. Love your draft vids, wins and losses, it's all games and you genuinely make the most fun and entertaining plays. Big ups, still holding out for the BR draft!

People are way too comfortable behind their screens so they feel invincible and just talk all types of shit. After all the stuff that happened to the community in the past I don’t know how there’s negativity in this community still after all this time. I think it’s strictly out of ignorance and I sincerely hope people can just chill. Some people are just taking this draft shit too seriously like bro this is not your fantasy football league it is ok if things don’t happen the way you want to. Idk man it doesn’t seem that difficult to not be mean but I guess it is

Keep going strong, King. You will always have my support. You've been playing for too long and shown me too much greatness not to cheer you on.

Insane that people can be like this to anyone, let alone the GOAT! We’re human. We make mistakes. Still a goat battler and content creator!

Oh i thought the hate was to paldea dex draft. Which imo isnt the best meta for sure compared to what we used to have. I m not surprised tho about the hate you are talking about, it s not like that in most leagues and i played since gen 6. That s a KZbin thing imo.

Everyone makes mistakes, aim, wolfey literal Jesus Christ, like you said in the video it's human nature The question shouldn't be to ask "how could you make such a mistake" but "how can I/we learn from this" In this case what's to be learned imo above just "look at the screen when selecting your move" is the human need to explain mistakes "logically" and how could this reflect on the way one sees his own mistakes in life. And perhaps more importantly, the value of bringing these subjects up and talking about it openly

Sorry you get so much hate man. Honestly you’re the only draft league player I watch and even though you don’t always have the best of results I still enjoy watching your matches every week, keep doing your thing!
