The adductor magnus is often over active in may of the people that I see for manual therapy and corrective exercise. Decreased hip internal rotation, weak core stabilizers and glutes and sacroiliac dysfunction are common as well. Eric Beard

could an adductor magnus strain cause pelvic floor issues? when i was looking at some 3d anatomy i noticed this muscle originates out of the pubic ramus

Can tight adductor muscles on the left leg cause SI joint pain and TFL tightness on the right?

I absolutely can not nor never could touch my toes or splits.. I was extremely active...I rode bikes warmed up ran nothing worked it structurally would not work I now have si joint dysfunction..

First off, thanx a mil for all the info U have provided. Say we have all that, what issue do we address first? Is it stretching the AM or strengthening the Gluteus Medius. Thanx in advance.

Hi great video! I was wondering what could be the signs if i had weak/stretched adductor muscles? I feel as though all my right side is tight groin & psoas muscles, where as my left leg, knee and ankle are loose. When i walk my left leg does not feel normal it drags and i have to focus some days to raise my upper leg higher so it does not drag and my ankle rolls inwards , which i also feel a pull or stretch in my medial calf. So the femur joint does not feel stable i feel this pull in my inner thigh that feels as though it runs down my inner hamstring and it goes all the way down into my calf muscle. What are your suggestions? please if you get the time :)

has anyone ever recovered from this?? realistically, I've never met someone who has said "I used to have a tight groin, but now I am pain free!". I have a tight groin and I once spent 4 hours+ a day stretching and I reached this one moment where everything was totally stretched out. I didn't have the zombie gait, I walked in a fluid graceful motion. felt like having new legs. but that was with 4 hours a day. when I didn' t have the time anymore it was only a few days later the muscles shortened back up, "spasmed" or what have you. feels like theres nothing that can really be done, except this hip immobility is destroying my knees. I've tried holding a deep squat for long periods, I've tried squatting ass to grass. bands, all sorts of stuff. piriformus syndrom on the right side... sciatic like pain wakes me up at night.

stretching and mobility work is only half the battle. the other half is activating the correct muscles to keep from reverting back to a tight groin. the adductors are synergistic to the glutes, so after relieving the groin, you have to next do corrective simulation to the glutes to keep the groin from tightening again.

I have felt clicking in my lower back when I lift my knee to my chest. This makes sense. I have tried to strengthen everything else and it did not work. Kept thinking I had a week piriformis.

I'm not overweight but my inner thighs rub and my adductor are weak. If I strengthen them is the rubbing going to get worse due to size increase?

I ride dressage and my adductor magnus is killing me for the last year, and I definitely feel it is related to my SI joint dysfunction that a chiro has been treating, but unsuccessfully. What kind of therapy do you recommend? I am in Ireland.

I have scar tissue on the adductor Magnus and I'm in pain 24/7, how can I get rid of this scar tissue and restore normal muscle length?

It's been 3 years of this problem cuz it was confused with sciatica and periformis syndrome, u think after 3 years I can heal myself?

Eric, this is awesome. This EXACTLY describes what I have going on with my right knee. The SI joint is restricted, the TFL is overactive, the psoas is tight, gluteus maximum and medius are weaker, and adductor magnus is very tight. Looks like I've finally hit the jackpot on what's going wrong with my knee!

i went to 4 different physical therapist 1 chiropractor and 2 orthopedic md for my lower back pain and sciatica and after using a foam roller on this muscle all of my pain is gone thank you so much for your help. I injured myself doing heavy squats and dead lifts a year ago.
