Gday Ade, great to see you back, I think painting the steam engine as a tribute to Fred Dibnah is a bloody awesome idea, I’ve watched so many videos on this man, he’s a bloody legend mate, certainly got big balls to be climbing the chimneys like he did, cheers mate

The film of him fixing ladders to a chimney still makes me wince, balls of steel that bloke.

when you've finished both of the engines keep one in the shed and one in the house otherwise left together they breed, I found out the hard way as I now have ten 🤣

Hi Ade, I try and get over to Ypres once a year, two of my Great Grandfathers fought over there in WW1, one came home full of shrapnel and the other was blown up by a shell and is buried just out side of Ypres, Perth Cemetery China wall, just down the road from hellfire corner. I have visited many of the "sites" of WW1 in and around Ypres and it is the most humbling emotional experience I think I have had in life, with the possible exception of seeing both my children being born. Love your video. Cheers and keep up the good work.

No problem Ade, look after yourself. Impressive taking the tunnel, lot better, than ship, hovercraft, though if i had a 6 or 7 hour trip on the other side, i may use a ship, nice 75 mins with food. Citric or Oxalic acids are very good for rust removal, doesn't erode ferrous materials as vinegar does. Nice Mammod engines. Thanks for sharing

Good to see you back again mate :) love those little Mamod engines - my grandad (a civil engineer back in his day!) had loads of them and I still have a couple floating around our own shed, a bit neglected if I’m honest! Nice to see them online though :) Look forward to seeing how work goes on it

Mate, you've got to give those puffers the flick. I occasionally miss them but I definately don't miss the smoker's cough and the crap in my lungs. Tough but can be done. Only really hard for just a small time.

Hi Ade, ive just bought a Warco WM 14 mill... .no idea how to use the captive drawbar....i have a collet holder installed but cant remove it for my drill chuck....did you do a video? or can you help. thanks Simon H.
@ade63dug
@ade63dug Жыл бұрын
On my machine the drawbar is captivated in the spindle by a cap on the top. This just leaves a 10mm square part of the drawbar sticking out the top. If you hold the spindle at the bottom and undo the 10mm square it will loosen at first and the become tight against the cap . keep turning the 10mm square and it should pop the two tapers apart . then just unscrew it by hand and it will come out. I am planning on putting a video up shortly . maybe even today, I will show it . Cheers Ade.

Hi Ade I’d love to build the Webster engine, can you tell me where you sourced the gears? I don’t have the equipment to make them and I think it would be very expensive buy that just for a few gears. I would appreciate your advice, thanks Chris

Soak the rusted / lime deposits parts in 45% vinegar 1:1 ratio with distilled water for 24 hours and the results could amaze you. I use the same to remove hard water deposits from glass. Also use it to remove mill scale
