In this Railway Empire 2 Fundamentals video, we discuss how to greatly increase the number of passengers and mail being carried on your lines. Passenger and mail revenue is by far the greatest source of money in the game. Understanding how to increase the amount of passengers and mail you are carrying will greatly improve your game play.

I am also looking for word to finding something I missed in Scenario 3. I have replayed it several times. 5 so far, trying different things. I always get between 625K and 660K. So it is easy to get CEO Score, hard to get a GOOD score.😃

One last step to the explanation needed: how many trains will you need to run all those new passengers?!? What is the max pax per car / max mail per car? So you see 91 pax per week at the end, will one train with the 3 special cars carry them all (i.e. all fit in 5 pax cars), or will you need a second train?

Thank you, this video has un-confused me. I think I now understand how it works. On a side note, you can save yourself a lot of mouse movements and save your hands. Rather than moving the cursor to the screens corner to close it, just right click and the screen will close.

Glad you enjoy the videos and find them useful. I plan to do more fundamentals videos. I'm trying to keep them to short digestible gulps. I think that is effective and frankly attention spans aren't what they used to be. I plan to do a "Designs That Work" series showing different station setups that can be used effectively.

Love this vid! Single line point to point express has to be the opening play for most scenarios/campaigns (after the easy task tick offs) i.e connect x many rural businesses (connect, achieve task then delete for 100% refunds). Apply same technique to bonus connections, get bonus then delete. After that 100% focus connecting as many cities as possible (express). It literally is a license to print money. So much so I do wonder if it is too strong and breaks the game a little. You then have licence to double track, station buildings or build your inner/outer freight lines. I have this game on PC and PS5. Still yet to find out how I can view my wagons and where they are going on PS5.

You have to look at the goods in the warehouse and see where they are destined, then run trains to those cities to clear the warehouse

There is one more possibility. If a destination is at least twice as far as the first city the train passes, then a hotel can be built in that city so that travelers can continue their trip the next day. This will still be faster than using a direct carriage over land.

Hi Ara. 1) I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "twice as far as the first city the train passes". 2) You can't put a hotel in a city (oddly enough since that seems like the logical location to put one) so do you mean create a station outside a city with a hotel on the station?

@@Adekyn100 Indeed. Sorry for the unclear wording of my sentence. I mean: You have city A+B+C+D etc. I want to get from A to D. To reach D, city B and C must be passed first. 1) either you stop in every city, 2) or you build a separate rail line to bypass city B & C. That trip would take 25 days at 18 mph if you put it through that stopover in town B & C, or 600 hours. Overland to destination D will take much longer, even though the road is shorter. Horses run 3 or 4 times slower than the express trains at the time. Building a station with a hotel between B & C and close to the main railway line 'for example at a local industry or somewhere out of the blue' will always be more economical. I don't think anyone in those years could manage to sit on a train for 25 days straight.

Thank you! Makes me wonder if I would have ever learned some of these things on my own, like the routes not opening up until you have an established line running on the rail. I'm close to 10hrs on just 1st campaign after restarting 3-4x. Did you do research before playing or learn these things through experience? Either way, I appreciate your time!

I did this one differently. I learned as we played. Have a series called "Let's Learn Railway Empire 2 Together" and literally learned the game as we played through the missions. I had a big head start since I'm a decent Railway Empire player, but that has its drawbacks since RE2 is a very different game.

Do you do an express train route between each city? So like 9? Or do you do 1 train that hits each city in sequence?

In RE2 (and RE for that matter) passengers will take the train from A to B then catch a train at B to go to C. That is the principle game mechanic this video is about - creating more passenger and mail volume by having connections to multiple cities. You still have passengers who want to travel just from A to B. By having multiple lines that go from one city to the next city we pick up the long distance traffic and the short hauls on the same train which tends to keep the trains running full and very profitable.

Every day 5% of passengers who have been waiting for more than 4 days leave the station. If we can keep our passenger route frequency to 4 or less days, then we won't lose any potential business.

I really think that they should rebalance this. It’s a great concept but brakes the game if you start with this in the beginning of your games. makes it absolutely easy with no challenge as far as money goes. If you add to that, that they give you 2 million as a start up capital and you can take additional loan after that…. You can set up with the initial funds few lines and then never worry about money again. And with this even the worst of the characters will make ton of money early game… thus making the goes so much easy to achieve

I agree that it is fairly easy to make money; however, I think the devs are between a rock and a hard place. There are so many people who are struggling with using warehouses correctly. They are swearing the game is broken when there is ample evidence it is not. If the devs nerf the passenger and mail income, there might be very few people left playing the game.

@@mraverageman7732 The icon represent wagons (cars) which are made up of x passengers or mail. They do not have to be full to run. This is different for freight which always ships as 1 full wagon (car) of goods. May 25, 2023 is when Railway Empire 2 released. Railway Empire didn't show how many passengers or mail each wagon held.
