Murray is ahead of Butts, Dowling definitely should be on here, Was easily our best young midfielder developing in the SANFL last year, And Nankervis would be the one at half back who is ahead of Sholl/Ryan

No to Sholl on HBF. Murray also better than Butts.

Keane is better than butts tbh, he really is just a defender with not a lot outside of that wheelhouse rn

Thanks, I've been watching all this series just waiting for Adelaide! Pretty good team and a bright future, but I'd make a couple of changes to the prediction: Keep Laird but put him half back, his old AA position, he'll be 33 the whole year, is durable. Sholl out of the team. Hinge on the wing, but Jones might come good so he'd be on the bench. The rest is good. The battle for the midfield starts this year!

dowling over mchenry sholl will probably be delisted or traded in the next 3 years

Murray ahead of butts going on potential and form prior to the acl, he could be elite. Sholl is a winger and won’t play til he gets tougher and learns to tackle. Hinge will be a lock in that spot, has already taken it from smith. Nankervis probs makes the bench over other medium defender prospects. The fight for the 3 tall spots in defence is going to be very interesting in a few years. Rory laird has a solid chance of still being there in my opinion just due to the style he plays. Also think it’s more likely Thilthorpe develops into a full time mobile ruckman that rests up forward in a similar mould to Jackson which leaves a hole in the key forward area once Tex leaves, could be would they got burgess for? Or if Walsh gets big enough to play key forward he will take that role and gollant will be the 3rd tall forward. Overall solid effort, there’s a whole lot of if’s with the crows since they’re so young most are being judged on potential so who knows what the mix will be. Haven’t seen enough of this years draft to put them in my team, there will be a lot of competition for spots so I give the advantage to the established experienced afl players.

Luke Nankervis? I would rate him more chance of being a best 22 player in three years than Ryan or Sholl. Hard to see Murray not being in our best 22 then. I agree with you on Edwards though, I suspect he will be a good fit in that midfield.

Thilthorpe will be the no.1 ruck over ROB in 3 years

I'll preface this by saying I'm biased for my favourite players, but I'd have Murray and Ryan in for butts and sholl, butts is fine as depth and did well considering his age but the others are probably more talented, sholl is known for being a bit soft and only getting easy ball so he probably loses his spot, rest of the defence is right though, I've heard nothing about Curtin as a mid yet and I've been looking at all the training stuff, he will be a third tall intercept. I hope edwards gets mid minutes and I like pedlar and rachele rotating through there, I would include Berry as that inside mid who is a tackling beast so definitely brings that defensive edge you mentioned. I've heard rumours ryan might move into the midfield eventually which is exciting because he is fast and contested. soligo, Jones and hinge are locks for wing rotations, I'm glad people rate soligo. forward line is probably how I would have it, I see welsh coming in early and playing third tall and fog and filthy step up to the tex void. cook is rumoured to be training as that McAdam marking medium forward, he is talented and has grown a bit as well in the off season, I think cook will be in the forward rotations as a flexible player who can play tall and small. it's hard to split players like keays, McHenry and Murphy since they all play as great pressure forwards, Murphy is a great stoppage player, McHenry covers the ground the best and Keays can play as a tagger or defensive forward, so we will probably pick based on opposition, so you are right it's a diverse list. I definitely think we will trade for a ruck soon, you can't predict that though, the fans want either Goad or Barnett, the club looked at both in their draft year's very closely. only mention this cause ROB doesn't strike me as a ruck who will play on too long, relies a lot on the physical side. very exciting though, should be a strong team

Murphy brings nothing to the team. What pressure? Guarding grass and pointing at others to do the work? He can't kick reliably, barely lays a tackle and rarely scores a goal. Yet he's in the leadership group and supposedly a pressure forward.

@stevetaylor1158 I actually completely agree now, when I wrote this first comment 7 months ago I thought he was OK, but in recent weeks he's given up, against the hawks he let his opponent run freely from defence, same against the swans, I'm actually so sick of him now lol. I'd rather just play a young mid in his spot like dowling or Taylor

I think you did a good job on this. Probably jumped the gun on Edwards, and there are a few players who could be anything (or nothing) Sholl is not a HBF, he has played there for periods, but he fell out befause he shirks the tackle. The current main wings (Hinge, Soligo, Jones and Sloane) will tackle all day. ATM Sholl is behind Parnell (maybe too small), Hamill (too concussed) and Nankervis (raw/mid/FWD/DEF). Shoenberg made the SANFL team of the year playin 10/18 SANFL games (the first 10) after he broke back into the AFL team he was in until injury. They also signed him onto a big contract after that. I think he is a lock. Berry had 2 good years, but was pushed out for Dawson. He could be our defensive midfielder. Also Murphy is younger than everyone assumes. He is 25 this year. He will be 28 in 3 years. I would bet my money the crows have a 28 yo Murphy in the side over a 26 yo McHenry. Most fans would like neither. (also Murray over butts, Dowling probably finds a way)

Sholl most overrated player on the list outside of the club. Murray the most underrated outside the club and was a top 4 key def this season b4 his knee gave way.

I'll join in the chorus and say Murray is better than Butts. Butts can be a best 22 defender I think, but Murray is a future AA.
