People put her in a pedestal not because she is a great vocalist but because of the style of music she does. This is a flat-out lie. For years many people praised Adele as a vocalist for her assumed vocal ability, skill and technique... Ability skill and technique that was quite literally never there. She is a good singer...........that's it. There's literally nothing impressive about her vocally. She does not have a unique way of singing, she does not take risk. Shes a good singer with a good sounding voice. That's all she's ever been. Singers like Kelly Clarkson take more risk and have a more distinct way of singing and singers like Carrie Underwood have far more impressive vocal abilities yet I've never heard the general public speak of their talent the way they speak of Adele.

That’s exactly how it should be, and I’m not even crazy about Adele but I respect her as an artist and I like her voice. If we just wanted “perfect” vocalists then we would pretty much only ever listen to opera (which by the way I love, haha). But some of the greatest albums of all time have been made by less-than-stellar vocalists, while some of the greatest vocalists out there don’t have a single legitimately good album (or even song, lol) to their name. Then of course, there are those who have neither good voices nor good music and somehow magically find themselves at the top of the charts, but that’s a whole other issue that shows more the flaws in humanity as a species, and I won’t go into that. xD

Adele has a really gorgeous, soulful, warm tone and a middleweight voice (not too brash or overpowering and not too dainty) that's strong enough to compliment her storytelling; and I think that's enough for her to sell her music. I think many people in general do still love that era of power ballads and those diva belters. Since Adele is one of the biggest artists from this generation that reminds them of that era, she's inevitably being compared to them. Adele's tremendous commercial success has led to her being put next to the musical greats or the top notch vocalists because like most of them, she has a distinctive voice and a consistently quality musical output. However, it's unfair to those legends and Adele herself because 1. they're trained differently and have more polished technique / better musicianship 2. Adele knows her strengths and limitations, never claiming to be more than a singer-songwriter. Nonetheless, I think she has a lovely voice that can still grow in range and versatility (there are many singers who enter their vocal primes after 30 or even 40) and hope that she will continue to achieve success with her upcoming release.

She is one of the only singers who can sing the phone book. I love her storytelling ability and I wish she had focused on her technique in order to avoid damage. If we had to give every singer a grade based on technique, the levels would be similar to this: Star level: the golden standard (Mariah, Whitney, Beyoncé etc); A-level: good technique and minor flaws (Lady Gaga, Céline Dion, Kelly Clarkson etc); B-level: signs of vocal training but still have some flaws (Leona Lewis, Tori Kelly etc); C-level: awful technique (Sia, Xtina, Adele etc); D-level: hopeless /aka beautiful gowns/ (Jlo, Selena Gomez). You always do a great job with your videos! Keep it up!

Adele does just enough to be labeled as a “great singer” due to her power ballads and stripped down approach to singing but not enough to be labeled as a true “vocalist” especially when she’s pretty limited. Just my 2 cents on her vocals. She sticks to what she knows and does just enough to give us good vocals

Adele is not an overrated vocalist her voice is unique… she doesn’t need the runs and the high whistles… everyone has their own vocal ability… Adele has a voice that touches your heart not only cause she sings with emotion but her writing ability resonates with you on a deeper level she hits you right where you’ve been hurt and that to me counts more than any belt and or whistle… I’ve been to many MANY concerts and Hers by far is the best one I ever attended.. definitely struck my heart and made me cry lol…

I think what this video is about is she needs to improve her belting technique, placement, and her larynx position when singing. It's pretty basic thing to learn, of course you don't have to have the big round power of Whitney's voice, or Céline's brassy belting, or even super high whistle ... not everyone can be Mariah.

Tbh she IS a very good vocalist. Not in the same league as the holy trinity but still much better than most artists out there. But her biggest strenght is her voice. Like, her tone. How she sings. So... great vocals, amazing voice, lovely personality, classy style and very very good lyrics makes her one of the best artists of the 21st century.

It's the emotions in Adele's voice that people relate to the most which so many artist can only try to deliver. It comes so naturally to her. It's one of the things that make her unique. Madonna was actually pretty good when she was trained for Evita, and her quality performances extended to her Ray of Light era (that live performance on Oprah Winfrey's show shook me). And despite not having the craziest vocal range and acrobatics, her voice held up quite decently (at least to Rebel Heart era). I think she's a singer with a beautiful tone but limited capabilities, who was able to pull off some great performances in her prime.

As Easy on Me continues to fuck the brains out of every other artist around at the moment, I think it's worth remembering that Adele relies for her appeal on a few simple things. The quality of her song-writing, the musicianship of her compositions and recordings, her unique and unmistakeable voice, and her authenticity. You can argue about details of her technical proficiency, but what Adele does with her voice as few other artists can is communicate. That's what a voice is for, and that's how she has used hers. She's simply one of the greatest pop-singers of all time, and I don't see how anybody can seriously argue that she's not.

It matters not whether someone really is titled the greatest singer or not .Why ? You may just love a song the person sings and that it Hello is a lovely song , I am not solely caught up with how fantastic the vocal is but the song plus if the delivery captivates me There are plenty of great singers with great songs that don’t get pushed or over promoted as Adele does Take Morgan James- let me keep you or Ali McGuirk “ what have you done for me “ or Sara bareilles “ I can let go now“ or Nina Ferro “ up on the roof “ you get joy from such great songs one is not over obsessed about who is the best singer . It’s a combination of the song and vocal delivery

Adele's song progressions are very easy to sing lol. The speed of the songs she sings is something that you can get a momentum along even if you are an average singer. Unlike songs of pop stars that can actually sing, everything is fast and chopped half way that's why those are more challenging to sing. I dont find her "great". There's very limited times her songs became challenging because the way the notes goes up will go up naturally for a singer.
