But I do feel like she should switch up her look a little more, which she did with the positions, and she tapped into some new things on that album also. But she said she wanted to focus more on writing for herself, instead of trying to make radio singles, in terms of like TU,N & Positions. I truly feel like she’s her own boss in many aspects of her career, bc she’s come up so far in the music industry, that many of these similar choices and things like that are her choices, but we’ll see on the positions tour. 😊🌚

Whitney definitely takes this. She’s on a whole other level, even above Goddess tier. The control, the consistent brilliance and resonance in it and speed throughout every register is just unmatched. It’s like when she opens up her voice to sing, her vibrato starts singing on it’s own. And it’s always on beat with the music, consistently held, even sound from her bottom to near upmost top notes. Vibrato was developed by opera singers as a way to ensure their voices don't get strained when projecting over an entire orchestra, cuz they didn't use microphones back then. Vibrato has been proven to have a positive affect on vocal-health for most opera singers. only in recent years has it become a stylistic flare. anyone can learn vibrato, but presence of a natural vibrato is an indication of a well-rounded voice in terms of range, power and breathing techniques

Morissette-her velvet vibrato is what brought my attention to this young Diva to begin with. Her whistle register was just the icing on the cake! You should watch her live streams-gorgeous vibrato when she plays the piano or guitar. Just stunning-I kid you not! Masterclass, indeed! Thanks for mentioning the Goddess Lea Salonga. I would put Tori in the S tier, I ve never heard her doing uneven or inconsistent vibrato. She can control its speed as well, so she can use fast vibrato while phrasing or slow when she wants to. You can hear her vibrato is connected to her riffs and runs because she uses a laryngeal one that is typical of r&b singers like Jazmine Sullivan who have the same skill.

Funny knowledge about vibrato! Vibrato is a natural thing that occurs when singers are well supported and use great technique. You can of course modify that "natural vibrato" to make it more fluent/more excessive but it's natural in singing. Keeping a note straight however is something you have when you either modify the tone that comes out to keep it straight/because you want to keep it straight or because it's not well supported. So between singing with vibrato or without. The actual masterclass would be singing without vibrato. It's much harder to keep a note clean without vibrato, then to let the natural vibrato come in. It requires more breath support, more control and vocal strength to keep a note consistently straight without it falling into natural vibrato.

Great video as always! I mostly agree with the ratings! I loved how you used the trinity, Sohyang, Lara and Lea as the blueprint rather than comparing them with the rest. For my tase, Beyonce and Morissette have the best vibrato from the singers showcased here. P.S- 11:30 is messing with my ears. It is a sustained G#4, but sounds like a big operatic G#5 if you listen closely. Btw 14:28 caught that lmao 😅

But this isn't about resonance it's about even oscillating vibratos and Ariana is one of the best. She literally changes pace of vibrato depending on genre and when she does do that it's even. The video creator said it best her vibrato is so advanced that it makes her voice sound extremely technical even if it's not.
