I worked on the Brit Awards this year. She was the only performer that made all the backstage crews stop in their tracks and find a monitor to huddle round. These are people who are used to being around all sorts of performers, and yet they all just had to stop what they were doing and listen. Literally world class performance, and an absolute honour to be there listening live.

Adele's music is not my typical genre, but when I want music in this style there's no doubt she's a go-to. Her voice has such a depth and richness to it that can't be denied. And while it's impressive enough to hear the studio version.... it's so much more impressive to hear her perform live and hardly be able to tell the difference. No offence, but it's hardly vocal gymnastics. It's nothing that pretty much every other singer in the world can't do easily. Maybe she does display vocal gymnastics in other songs? I'm only here because a friend wanted me to listen. Her voice annoys me tbh, but she obviously has her fans, and why not?
