The amount of smart and consummate musicianship that is going on in this video is so, so underrated. This is what it is like to watch pop musicians work at the top of their game. There is talent oozing off even the nooks and crannies of that stage.

While i don't disagree that they are, in fact, Pop musicians, this is R&B baby! Rhythm and freaking Blues, and they absolutely smashed it! Pop would be more "produced", more danceable, and more of a product ( which isn't a bad thing ), but there's a distinction to be made and i think it's very important to not confuse the two. Great comment btw!😁

She has none on and at first I was like Damn. But after I saw her her Soul and Voice she went to prove to Young Girl's out there you do t git to be a Whore bag Slut like No talent Katie Perry who can't Sing live. And that Man Beast Beyonce who even lip sync The National Anthem, LOL like WTF does that but that fake bitch. There all Studio fake Bitches. Just like 2PAC said about the Studio Gangsta. She's even more beautiful with No make-up and what a voice and you can tell she loves and believes in God which she has Said. Which is why her Career has not exploded any Bigger. Cuz she would t sell her Soul. A lot of you don't know the sick Shit and rules and things you got to do and pay to be a Huge Star.

True, but you can't deny how shallow the music scene as a whole has become. I don't wanna single anyone out, but we live in a world where Cardi B won a Grammy. There's hundreds of rappers out there with more depth and message behind their lyrics. To me, if someone can't appreciate the magic that happened on this stage between John and Alicia, then you've either never played live music a day in your life, or you don't have an ear for all the subtle nuances in the music before you. The band went seamlessly from her song, to his, back to hers. And the lyrics for the two, sounds like he wrote Gravity in response to her song. It's a full circle mindfuck lol

Drummers ALWAYS are the musical leaders. Anyone who has been part of a band knows that the drummer is the one who have the timming and order for the rest. Thats why drummers always give that one, two, three with the sticks before the jam starts I played the guitar and my best jams have come from joining my man Richard vibin in the drumms

the intimacy of her performance is striking. She's in the middle of Times Square surrounding by thousands of people, but the way she gently croons into the microphone across those first few bars makes you feel like she's singing just to you. It's gentle and delicate, before striking a high note just as a warning shot of how powerful her voice really is

This is one of the best live performances I've ever seen, and there is so much to love about it, most of which has already been stated in other comments. One of my favorite parts is at around 3:30, That smile on the young guy's face standing on a stage in NYC between these two musical giants singing to each other is simply priceless! What an experience! Then fast-forward to about 5:48 when Alicia starts singing Gravity...John turns and looks at the other musicians like friends, it's just so great. I think the one striking thing about this performance is the energy, humility, mutual respect, and friendship vibe on the stage. It's truly awesome!
