I searched so often for the classic detail of contrast trim at so many brands that I might, along with others, have exerted a little influence, it finally came back on trend. I’m snatching up items with it that I love while they’re available. It’s great for pulling together an outfit of the two solid colors. My other trick for this is a silk scarf in the two colors, but I don’t always want to wear one, like in high summer. Much as I have always loved them, too, for my climate they’re a three-season accessory. My style is classic and very simple, so the few details I do add are important. My other favorites are classic, triangular, pointed collars, visible pockets, and good leather belts.

Yes to “tailaments”. The goofy way my brain works, this sounded perfect to me: tailored elements, now known as tailaments, forever. Tailoring is a girl’s best friend, it shows the female shape without being revealing or just plain super-tight. Women have known the trick of using the formerly men’s-only clothes construction, for centuries, beginning with the tailored riding jackets of the 17th and 18th C. I also love knits for this, so long as they’re not tight enough to cause that horizontal creasing, which just adds lots of visual weight.

I find jeans too uncomfortable for most activities, but if I do want to wear them, it’s always Optic White 501s. White jeans look so much more elegant than any other hue and I reject that “dark on the bottom rule”, I need the opposite. I have no hip or thigh curves, my figure is straight as a stick from just below the waist, so men’s jeans are my only option. Women’s jeans are made for the average woman who does have hips significantly larger, say 12 inches, than the waist, on me, it’s only 6 inches difference. As a very short-waisted petite, I like “mid-rise”, which are high-rise on me.

Could you please show us how to hide 'pear shaped body' in summer clothing, especially for those who are petite with big tummy

I only wish we could get Arket here in the US! Meanly, or snobbily, they won’t ship here. It’s their loss, too, it is the world’s largest apparel market, by far. So, I content myself with UK and EU brands. US brands, with a few exceptions (Banana Republic, Quince), are crap, everything is made of plastics, synthetic-fiber fabrics and plastic accessories. I’m living some of the better Chinese brands, too, like Lily Silk, where I’ve shopped regularly for a decade.

I love your videos, but your nervous laughter makes me nervous, like how I get anxious seeing a very nervous bride.
