Something that has helped me a BUNCH over the past 13 years of producing is HAVE A SET OF MIXER CHANNELS PREDETERMINED! For instance, 1 is always the kick, 10 is always piano, 14 is always the main lead, 20 is always bass, so on and so forth. Also, RENAME YOUR CHANNELS AND RECOLOR THEM! For instance pad is pink, lead is blue, arp is turquoise. If you have multiple pads and want them next to eachother, label the first as “pads” and the rest of the pads as a spacebar. This makes the channel name blank and is very organized. Lastly, HAVE A BUS *AND* A SIDECHAINING CHANNEL! Having a bus channel before the sidechain channel allows you to add effects you might want on everything such as a compressor to just help even everything out a bit more. It also allows you to pick and choose what you want sidechained. Sometimes you can have two bus channels, one routed to the sidechain and the other routed to the master. Just a few things that helped me along the way!

for me, my recording workflow is this: - save your flp to a folder dedicated to your song. - options>project general settings>click "AUTO" on the data folder tab. now anything you record in the mixer will be automatically saved to that folder. no need to right click and manually find the location. you won't be tempted to save it to a random place where it can get lost.

hey jonas just a tip for you: to automate third party plugins quicker you can just ACTIVATE the KNOB at the top (four steps to the right of the computer midi keys button) and nudge the the parameter you want to automate and then u should be able to to just create an automation from the options when you right click it TO BETTER EXPLAIN: TURN ON THE KNOB LOGO BUTTON (four steps to the right of the computer midi keys button) THEN TURN NUDGE THE PARAMETER IN THE THIRD PARTY PLUGIN YOU WANT TO AUTOMATE THE BUTTON WILL BLINK ONCE THEN U CAN JUST AUTOMATE IT BY RIGHT CLICKING THE BUTTON HOPE this helps u big fan cheers ~JO-E

Another useful trick not a lot of people seem to know is that you can actually link alot of different parameters to the same automation with the link to parameter option, so if you want a specific reverb to apply over 9 different leads for example, you could link all of their wet levels to the same automation to declutter

Hey Jonas! I have two very useful tips for you, maybe you can learn something or share them in your next FL Studio tips video :) 1. A very useful trick is to right click on the "track" panel in the playlist, select "track mode" > "instrument track" > "choose your instrument/vst here". This will link the instrument as a channel, give it an automatic mixer channel and everytime you rename or change color on either one (channel, playlist track or mixer channel) they will all change together. 2. A second useful trick is to use the arrangement section in the playlist. You can insert reference tracks, put markers at the top (intro, verse, buildup, chorus/drop etc.) then save the arrangement for quicker arrangement templates. I like to keep one arrangement template for messing around with sounds, and then i have 5-6 different arrangements to choose from, depending on style i'm producing. It might take 5-10 minutes to set it all up, but once you've done it, you will be so glad you did it!
