I love their 60s stuff way more than what they did later. The voice in this song is of a condemned man wanting to get a last message to his wife or girlfriend, before he is executed. "Well I did it to him now it's my turn to die..."

I haven't heard this song in a minute. I was an abused child growing up, and no not by my parents but foster parents. I'm pretty sure this song was playing and my soul heard the words, " hold on." Of course God was speaking to me then as today.b our world is crazy, our country in tatters almost but the bee gees sing, " hold on." Powerful artists. They cared and loved their music and fans.

Released in 1968 and was a #1 hit on the UK charts. A turbulent time in history, Martin Luther and Bobby Keenedy were assasinated, a year later we walked on the moon, Viet Nam was blazing with the country ripe with war protests as many caskets were returning home. Richard Nixon was president and later resigned in disgrace. And then there was the music that somehow held the world together..... songs like this that I remeber so well when I was only an 11 year old. My older sister had a huge collection of 45s and I used to sneak in her room when she was not home to play them. I used to wear this 45 out! I loved the Bee Gees, especially their early stuff like this song, How Do You Mend A Broken Heart, To Love Somebody etc etc. Always enjoy your reaction Harri, TY.

I agree. Phenomenal. Love them. You describe it well. This is what we are missing in society right now. Not enough love songs. Not enough sweetness. That’s what we used to have. Now it’s all tainted. Heavy metal, so called Rock. Does not resemble what was when originated. Used to be all about love. That was a great thread going through society.

I had twin sisters that were 7 years older than me. One of them was really into music, and had a stack of 45's. She showed me how to use the turntable, she saw how careful I was with the records. This was the song that made nine-year-old Stacy anti-death penalty for life. Pretty heavy stuff, to have a lasting effect like that on someone.

Two British groups/singers that I love the most and. I feel we’re so underrated: the BeeGees and Cliff Richard! People had real talent and could actually sing! Both are just magical live, nothing better! Would love to see you react to The Bee Gees video ( Idea), from the same time period! The video like everything they have done was very innovative ( way ahead of the time) Also, the live video from the Event/Cliff Richard…( From a Distance), BTW the DVD and Cd of the entire Event is fantastic. ( it covers back from the Oh Boy days through the present…at the time)…the song/video I requested is the finale’. Just love your reactions and enthusiasm!🇺🇸
