Those people are obtuse. They can’t even comprehend what he’s singing/ saying let alone criticize him for his vocals or lack there of. There are great performers that are not technically great singers. It’s the entire package. I have been a huge fan since his very beginning. I'm a little disappointed that my "kids" never cared for him. I told them they just never took the time to really LISTEN to his music and the messages in them. That hasn't dampened my enthusiasm one little bit. I'm just as big a fan now as I was in the 60s. This is a protest song from the Viet Nam era. So many young soldiers were coming home in caskets, hence “forever young”. I just started to get these videos today. Is there a big push for black folks to acquaint themselves with music of my generation? I am so thrilled to enjoy this awakening. I have always been in awe of the renaissance of great music of the 60s and 70s. We changed the world. This music is our legacy and I for one am so happy to share it with you generation.

He has a lot of excellent music 🎶, here are some great suggestions I would love to see you react to: “ Don’t think twice, it’s all right”. “ Blowing in the Wind” “ Tangled up in Blue”, “Tambourine Man”, and so many others. Please so more if the one and only Bob Dylan!

An incredible masterpiece, and yet it’s just another grain of sand in the vast ocean of Dylan’s work. Wouldn’t be surprised if this was only The Band’s first or second run-through of the tune. Bob’s “first take is the best take” philosophy gives the song that same ragged, soulful honesty that was all over The Basement Tapes. He loves to just show his studio guys the changes just once, and then just hit record and see what comes out. It’s the absolute opposite of todays Pro Tools/auto-tuned search for perfection, and it’s what made the old music so much better! You can almost hear them feeling their way through it, searching for little nuances here and there, making it all up on the fly, and just reveling in the fact that they’re all so very much on the same page.

Always did love this song! In my mind I am forever a teen, too bad that my body didn't get the memo, ha! Dylan has an album that is country flavored called "Nashville Skyline" which was received about as well as when he went electric. It didnt sell well. A lot of his fans wanted him to remain stagnant and not grow musically. The only hit on it is "Lay Lady Lay" but I think that the whole album is top notch. By the way, Rod Stewart has a song with the title of "Forever Young", and tho it's a different song, he gave Dylan credit for the inspiration

Some artists may find themselves intimidated by Bob Dylan. I get inspired by him. He constantly moves forward and is always truthful to the muse that speaks to him. He won't let himself be pigeonholed and he doesn't care about what his audience wants from him. His voice is his voice. He uses it to convey what he wants to convey. All of this has resulted in a legacy that can never be matched. The Beatles may be the best band. Bob Dylan is the best single artist in the rock and roll era.

My mom and dad watched Joan Baez introduce a teenage Dylan at the Blackhawk in San Francisco when he was still a relative unknown outside NY. I got to see him and the Band, along with the Grateful Dead in the early 1980’s and Dylan solo again about 1987 or so. (Same thing with Miles Davis and Zappa. Parents, my dad really, saw them when we lived in California, where I was born, and I was lucky enough to see them both in Ohio in my late teens and early 20’s. All geniuses in their own way but lyrically, Dylan is pretty hard to touch. And The Band? Fugettaboutit. Totally awesome. Levon and Danko, were my two favorites. The crap Robbie pulled on Levon was unforgivable. Watch “I ain’t in it for my health,” and ask yourself how Levon the HEART of The Band, could end up having to put on shows like the Midnight Ramble (while dying of cancer) to keep from losing his home. I digress. Great stuff ❤️👍🏼
