Yep. More water means more volume in the circulatory system which leads to more volume entering the Right atrium. That means that the Left ventricle will get more blood filling it in diastole...and that increases preload. More preload leads to a higher force of contraction, and higher blood pressure! =)

I have a question. I understand the process of releasing ADH and how it works on. But my question is if ADH is released from our brain, posterior pituitary, how can they get to the target cell like renal tubule or the place that ADH really affect. I just guess that all hormones get to the target cell through blood so ADH do so. Is it right? Don't they go through any other neurons (nerve cell) or other cells??

At 9 minutes you say we don't know where the osmoreceptors responsible for ADH secretion are, in Guyton and Boron and Boulpaep it states that they are in the Hypothalamus and are called SFO (Subfornicle Organ) and OVLT (Organum Vasculosum laminae terminalis). Your welcome.

Great video!! Can the stimulation of ADH also be due to a decrease in water levels in the body, as well as an increase in Na+ amounts in the body?

So when the baroreceptors detect low BP ADH is released, got that (really well actually thanks for this!!), but how does increasing water in blood increase BP? is it because volume increases? cheers

Can you help? How does Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) regulates the formation of concentrated or dilute urine. How does an individual with diabetes mellitus having chronic hyperglycaemia affect urinary output/fluid balance?
@_a_butterflyy376
@_a_butterflyy376 7 жыл бұрын
if there is less water intake then there is increase in osmolarity that leads to activation of osmoreceptors and there it release agh..so it gives d concentrated urine out.. dilute urine out simple d reverse in chnging increase in water intake decrease in osmolarity and no activatn and no release..
