im a little confused whats the difference between ADH and aldosterone because they seem too similar like how will i know its ADH being used instead of aldosterone to balance fluid level?
@NursingSOS3 жыл бұрын
ItzHuZz, great question!!! So ADH tells the kidneys to reabsorb water, and aldosterone is secreted by the adrenal glands and causes the kidneys to hold onto sodium to then have the body hold onto more water. This is also a video on aldosterone: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZoaoiYZ9ecembdU I hope that helps, friend!! You are doing awesome!!

When ADH kicks in is it possible to get a spike in blood pressure? Before it's pulled back, Could you BP go to high?
@NursingSOS Жыл бұрын
@childlikefaith7257 ADH is going to cause the body to hold onto fluid, so increase the volume and therefore increase the pressure in the vessels (blood pressure). So when ADH is released it will increase blood pressure, I hope that helps clarify it for you!

Wait , so what happens to the Sodium and Potassium when ADH is released 😅?!
@NursingSOS3 жыл бұрын
Alpha Beta Delta XXX, you will hold onto water, rather than get rid of it when ADH is released. So ADH is released when the electrolytes are too high or too concentrated, so ADH will tell the kidneys to hold onto water to further dilute the electrolytes in the blood, so it would decrease the concentration of electrolytes. I hope that helps clarify it for you, friend! And if you have any other specific questions you can always email us at hello@nursingsos.com 😊
