Is it common for people to have several psychiatric disorders at the same time?

That is a great question. Sometimes, conditions are unrelated, like ADHD and schizophrenia. Then they co-occur as you'd expect statistically in general population, that is about 1% of ADHD patients also have schizophrenia. However, most of the time the conditions are relatively but we don't always know how, like 20% of OCD patients also have ADHD, that is 3 times the average population rate. Moreover, conditions like anxiety and depressive disorders co-occur predictably. At least 60% of patients with depression also have anxiety disorder and many patients with anxiety disorders will eventually develop depression.
