There are many possible classroom strategies for ADHD students. ADHD or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder can disrupt the classroom and education of ADHD students, academically and behaviorally. Modifications and accommodations for students with ADHD make teaching kids with ADHD easier. The strategies for students with ADHD in the video set the child up for future school success. #ADHD #ADHDmodifications

What accommodation do you think would work best for your child with ADHD?
@Bemandyd
@Bemandyd Ай бұрын
My son was on the middle of having adhd and not, by a assessment. The doc wrote a letter of accommodation, and the teacher was preparing for it but then recommended he was improving and didn’t need the accommodation. Fast forward to 5 months later we are back to square one. Reward system is failing and genus very defiant. Made appointment with pediatrician soon hopefully we will get answers. Thank you for your services!

I see a lot of people saying they would rather homeschool their children instead of medicating them. Then, why haven't you? Why continue to stress your child with what you consider not right?

Please help me, I am from Iraq and my child is a patient with ADHD, and there is no specialized institute in Iraq to take care of children with this disease, and the school does not accept the child because of the complaints of parents and other students against my son

I am a teacher of an adult with inattentive adhd, but this person doesn’t take any medications, they don’t go to doctors, it is so hard to teach, especially when they don’t do HW and don’t remember any of the new words (i only give the a few, only give a vary small quantity of tasks, like 2 or 3, but they don’t do anything). No progress, every lesson we repeat the same list of 5 old words, and grammar of 3 tenses. It’s been 5 months… I already gave up with numerals, i just ask the date and wait till they count with digits… i’ll finish their course and won’t take them anymore, if they don’t respect themselves it doesn’t mean I don’t respect my lifetime and energy. And yes, i have other ADHD adult students, they all have progress. It is not bc of my “teaching approach”.

So? You just want medicated people, so your job can be easy! Shame on you! You are an embarrassment to all teachers!

What do you do when the teacher has ADHD 😳
@ButterflyBeginningsCounseling
@ButterflyBeginningsCounseling 9 ай бұрын
That's a tricky situation because a lot of the factors are outside of your control. However, if you feel it is significantly impacting your child's education, I recommend sitting down with the teacher and having an honest conversation about what your child is struggling with i.e. too many transitions, teacher not staying on task... and if necessary discussing it with school administration as well.

This answer is really hurtful as an adult with adhd, we work so hard to help children with adhd, well you know those children grow up to become adults with adhd. I have seen time and again schools which you would think would be supportive of neurodiverse people just crushing them.@@ButterflyBeginningsCounseling

I disagree with your approach. You emphasize the need of medication. If anyone does not know. ADHD meds are amphetamines. I will not drug my kid and take away his creativity and give him more meds for side effects. ADHD meds are known to cause arryhtmia and predispose the kids for harder drugs. This is a typical teacher view, let's put kids on meds. I would rather homeschool my kid than make him into a zombie.

Thank you for your opinion. Yes, I believe some kids can learn to cope without medication. For others, it is more difficult. If a child has asthma or cancer, we provide medication. ADHD is an illness, too.

@@ButterflyBeginningsCounselingas someone who takes medication for ADHD I agree that it isn’t the best option for some but for others like me it’s extremely helpful and I agree that if someone had a life threatening illness or condition you would at least try medication and it could be beneficial also with untreated ADHD they will try to seek that stimulation with other drugs that aren’t good for them.
