I'm in my free trial of Marvin and I'm loving it. Most apps get really boring after a while and I stop using them. I need the game aspect, so a lot of apps already don't work for me. But with the ability to turn on and off stratagies, if I start to get bored, I can fiddle around. I will say, there is a learning curve. I got overwhelmed at first. So I turned everything off and am still in the process of building it up, just one or two things at a time. Then I get them set up and configured how I like it. Then add the next thing. So far so good lol

Hey I just found a way to make time slots smaller than 30min or 60 min. There's a controls sidebar that you can open by clicking the icon on the top right corner. There you can set it to 5min increments.

WOW. I’m an app junkie and this one has blown my mind. It’s just like you said… every thing you could possibly think of or want in an app.. plus things I didn’t even think of. I’m so excited to test this out!

I just started my trial period with Marvin and so far I think the idea is genius. you're right, some features don't work as smoothly (or you have to spend quite a bit of time to figure out how to make them work) so I'm still deciding if it's gonna stick. but I wanted to add a correction that you CAN adjust the smallest time slots in your calendar. you can make it as small as 5 min and that make it easier to schedule shorter tasks

I'm looking at the appstore and I'm already overwhelmed with the way it organizes tasks The fact that its fully customizable is VERY overwhelming for me. I'm sure it would be extremely helpful to use as a resource app, I'm going to try it and see if I can get it to work for me, simply because this review has me super curious and hopeful that the app will work well. I just found this channel and i already absolutely love it!

Are you still using Marvin? I would love to see a video of your workflow if possible. I bought the lifetime version THREE years ago and still barely use it. I just get overwhelmed every time I try and not sure what workflows/strategies to implement. See you on Sukha :)

This sounds amazing, thanks! I've narrowed it down to trying to go all in with this one or sunsama...(I don't want to bounce around too much, LOL, I'm already procrastinating my work with app searching!) I love the sunsama timer. Do you know if Marvin has that timer feature? -- "Start task now" and the visual countdown? I will find out soon, going to download 😆 - Oh, sorry - now I see the Marvin timers - looks like a great app!

Another way of visually timing a task is the "beat the clock" strategy (which works with duration estimates and time tracking)--if you go to the beat the clock screen and choose a task, it starts time tracking that task and displaying a "cup" that fills as the amount of tracked time approaches the duration estimate amount. It's a little different than the timers in Marvin, though, in that it doesn't tell you when you've passed the duration estimate (Marvin just falls out of the cup as the "liquid" overflows). Sometimes I use timers and beat the clock together for maximum visual countdown.
