I so appreciate how real, open and vulnerable you make yourself in these videos, for the sake of helping us. I'm so grateful, thank you so much!! I'm in the middle of a similar situation with our teens and it's so easy to lose hope and just have difficult days - it truly helps to know we're not alone through these seasons and others have gone before us. 🙏🏽

Just commenting to say that I've been there and still there 😅 . We didn't experience the autoimmune issues so we knew early on with mine because he's also hyperactive/impulsive (the "H" in ADHD). We've gone natural the whole time but middle school & high school has been a struggle so we are now considering help. As you said, he is certainly gifted and creative in other ways so there's no shortage of talents but it is still a challenge at times! I do love that you're sharing practical tips here and what worked for you guys! I think I'm going to share some ideas for us as well. I'm believing that it all works together for the good of the Lord and waiting excitedly for the man he'll become. 🙌🏾🙏🏾 Praying for you and your blessed sons.

Thank you for sharing! My girls both have celiac disease, my husband does as well. I self diagnosed my youngest daughter (10years old) a few months ago with ADHD. So much of what you were describing is how that daughter behaves. My oldest I believe has some dyslexia and possibly dysgraphia. I totally agree that others don't understand at all. I just keep my nose down and focus on what is best for my girls with lots of prayer. Thank you for sharing curriculum. You have mentioned some that I was not aware of and will looking into more.

Just to let you my son said having celiac can be harder than living with the diabetes. I have heard others say that. So bless you mama. Keep you eyes up❤️ God chose you and that can make it exciting ☺️. He will enable you!!❤️🙏

@@learningwithboys7431 oh yes it is. My husband also has type one diabetes. He was diagnosed at 12 years old. We found out he had Celiac (in his 30's) after we got our oldest diagnosed 8 years ago. I am just grateful we can take care of celiac with diet. I am not sure how I would do if my child had to be in the hospital all the time because of an illness.

My 9th grader has sensory processing disorder and dysgraphia... my 7th grader has diagnosed mild ADHD and dyscalculia. We've made a lot of adjustments over the years. I've had a lot of practice with how they both learn best, since this is our 8th year homeschooling. But we are always having to make little adjustments to make the curriculums work for them. It can be so complicated when you are dealing with puberty in the mix! WHEW! Exhausting! Thankful for the strength of the Lord.

I've noticed as my ADHD daughter started working more independently this year, that it would help if I could read ahead of her. I find sometimes she is reading but not retaining. She needs someone to walk through it with her to review. It takes more effort on my part, but I'm going to try it next year to see how it goes.

Does the reading make her really tired? I am just asking because I have one like that. Middle school is hard anyways. But I have found that following along with audiobooks helped. And yes being aware of what they are reading so I can discuss. I am always asking him about his reading to be sure he is comprehending and it has gotten better 😉❤️🙏

@@learningwithboys7431 sometimes if she is reading what she wants to read - hyper focus kicks in. But schoolwork reading is another story…. She has good days and bad days being able to concentrate, but yes, it makes her very tired.

Awesome video!! I've got a 17 yo son with ADHD who has been a challenge and a joy. You've given me some good ideas and inspiration. How math-y was the Physics 101? Was it part of HOD or something you put together with the Masterbooks?
@learningwithboys7431
@learningwithboys7431 Жыл бұрын
Hi- no Physics 101 was not Math-y at all. That is why I chose it- math is a struggle but funny thing is understanding some of those concepts in real life situations is not a problem😉. Neither were part of HOD, so yes I just put them together 😉
