Wow, I do exactly this. It’s pretty cool that it came up in my feed. I will get totally immersed in fabrics textures and patterns. And colors of pretty much everything and combinations of colors.

Same! I can spend hours just looking at how and object changes based on how and when the sun sun falls on it. I find it calming and weirdly exciting. As if some great secret is about to be revealed.

This is fascinating to me, because I've found myself doing something similar both photographically and with my naked eye (for me, it's more line and pattern based, though I find the texture of rusted surfaces particularly lovely), but I never would've thought to connect it with my ADHD.

Same, had no idea it was part of my ADHD, but then, I was very late diagnosed so it always just felt like a creative thing.

Dragnoz, I don't know if you are going to see this comment and sorry for not being related to the video. I used to watch you when I was a kid and found in my old google account a file related to your "Map in a box reboot" and remembered of you. Thank you very much for showing your command block minecraft episodes from 10 years ago. You were one of the big factors (also NOPENAME ,IJAMinecaft, TheRedEngineer and mattbatwings :) ) why I learned programming and making me like math. I am now in my second year as a math major today and following my dream of becoming a mathematician. I thank you very very very much for shaping my future as it is right now.

Thanks ! I actually havent heard of this specific example-I was diagnosed at 55 which was two years ago. And I was actually a clinician for my career. I am also highly drawn to photography as an art and when I think about my Best (and most pleasing to MY OWN eyeS) Photos... They absolutely had that quality. Also shapes and symmetry and such. Congrats School I am doing research right now about the overlap of ADHD and autism spectrum disorder- I think they are much more connected than modern day neurology and psychiatry understand.

I totally agree. ADHD is so misnamed and in no way should be an umbrella term such a large range of symptoms.

Plus it would be nice to have the stigma removed from both terms

So... my random interest in moss and lichen is visual stimming?!! 😳 I always thought it was a manifestation of my scientific/arty brain, but it actually makes perfect sense as I feel no urge to go out and inspect some lichen when I am nice and relaxed at home. 😅 I had never heard of visual stemming before. Thank you for this video 👍

@Orca_matt well I kinna got bored with making of the vids and Minecraft youtubers were moving in different directions. I jumped to bedrock from java and got roasted for it. So I followed different 'hobbies' and obsessions. I still work with Minecraft on a professional level.

i've fallen into the wrong path to deal with those issues. Sure weed helps tuning down when my mind gets of the rails. But it's also slowly ruining my life by taking slowly my motivation away. I've heard lots of people with ADHD fall into the same issues about drugs, don't be a silly goose and don't do them kid

Problem is that its still stigmatised and not taken seriously, so many of us did self medicate. Biggest one for me was and still is Monster Energy Drink. I've just started the journey .
