Firstly, I am a massive fan of The Music....I only got diagnosed with ADHD three years ago, and I am 36. It was a massive relief to get this diagnosis, as it gave me some answers as to why I have struggled since I was a child. I wasn't totally useless academically, but I felt I had to work so much harder than everybody else. I always felt different to the other children around me, but I couldn't work out why. I was never a naughty child or disruptive, but I seem to have caused more chaos as I have got older. I think this is because life becomes more complicated and challenging in an adult world as your responsibilities increase. I have also self-medicated. Unfortunately, it has been a coping mechanism which is obviously completely the wrong way to cope. I just wanted to say a big thank you to you for speaking about your ADHD. This sounds quite bad but I was really happy to hear that you have ADHD! Let me explain...the music you have produced has been a big part of my life and I have always held you in high in regard as a very talented guitarist in one of my most favourite bands. To learn that you have ADHD, makes me realise that I am not totally useless, and that anyone can have ADHD and be talented and successful. Believe me, you speaking out will give hope and positivity to all those that have ADHD.

I have found it hugely useful to hear your experiences with ADHD. I feel the way forward for me is to be open and speak to others like yourself.

Must agree with September Sunshine below, you could do so much good spreading this message more widely. Both for people dealing with the effects of ADHD themselves and their families/teachers etc. Because you're speaking from personal experience, because you put it across so clearly and because you make a point of saying it's not necessarily a curse, it can be quite the opposite if recognised and harnessed to produce a positive result. And also about the use of drugs, what you have to say should be included in any debate about making cannabis legal. To be honest I've never thought too deeply about ADHD but I'd rather learn about it from someone who has experienced its effects, and has ideas about how to deal with it positively, than some professor. And you answered the question I was going to ask about whether making these vids has helped you, great to hear that it has. Nice work all round!
