ADHEAR overcomes patient's microtia

Until recently, patients with the condition microtia could either wear a bone-conduction hearing aid attached to a headband or have surgery to implant a screw or magnet into the skull to attach a hearing aid. Now, a newly FDA-approved adhesive device is changing that.

I have the condition too. I got 3 surgeries to built the outer structure but I still deaf on that side.

​@luisrzuniga-landa2697 you are ignorant. Microtia doesn't mean born without ears. It generally affects one side most commonly the right side and it is an underdeveloped outer ear....ask me why I know, I was born with said condition..to add to it I have aural atresia...meaning my ear cannal is blocked by bone. Imagine having a permanent ear plug that blocks all noise stuck in your right ear. Try bot to come off so ignorantly judgemental next time kid.

You didn't have the first version unless the microphone was on your hearing side like mine were....they were useless and ridiculously expensive.

Microtia isnt something to be left out for. I am 28, was never excluded from a single thing, if you are you need better frienda. I am now a car mechanic, have had Microtia all my life, never been fixed and yet i have learned to know where sounds are coming from.
