Any 2 Kw oven element soldered to a SAFE flex + plug top ... then , the joints covered with ( several ? ) layers of ADHESIVE LINED heat shrink will make a 1st class emergency bath water heater ( boiler broken down ? ... yes they do ! ) ... this will give you a nice HOT bath , before the GEEZER comes to fix your boiler .. ( tried- n - tested ) .... DAVE™🛑

What is that heating tool called?

Hi CastleKnight, thanks for the comment. It is a butane powered gas soldering iron with a reflector tip fitted. I've have included UK links to both items. I use one at work and it's very handy if you have no power near by. Thanks for watching 👍🏽 Gas soldering iron uk.rs-online.com/web/p/soldering-irons/0660416/ Reflector uk.rs-online.com/web/p/soldering-accessories/1622409/

so... maybe you don't need to solder at all then?
@MikeMakesIt2 жыл бұрын
You might get away with that if you tinned and twisted the wire together first. I've found some H/S joiners that have a solder ring in them so that one would certainly work without the need to solder the wires first. Thanks for watching 👍🏽

@@MikeMakesIt iv'e seen those too, where the solder is in the heatshrink aswell. but i was always under the impression that when one made a heatshrink "connection" it was at least somewhat sturdy to protect the electrical wiring from water, etc. i am just starting with this you see. need to protect a wire from the cold and rain etc. maybe i bought the wrong heatshrink :|

These are the ones we use at work, they seem ok. amzn.to/3dQIGgs Got the solder built in and the heat shrink has adhesive in it to seal the joint. There are different types so make sure you get the one suitable for your use.

With how cheap adhesive lined shrink is, i see no downside to using it

HI, yes, I seem to be using it all the time now, certainly when working on the car, thanks for watching
