I bought this shoe about a month ago and I have been using it for trail runs here in Baguio. So far it proved to be a big help running uphill in high altitude training. I used to run in an SL20, it is lighter and beneficial for speed drills but for longer distances, I prefer this new version of the Boston.

Extremely helpful review, thanks. Earlier iterations of the Bostons, particularly the 8, struck the perfect balance between comfort, fit, durability and responsiveness; a great all rounder, but this is too big a design departure to even be called a Boston. You can now get Boston 8s for about £70, which given how hardwearing they are, represents seriously good value for money.

Informative review Ben.I bought this with half marathon distance in mind. Did a 11 mile long run then a half marathon race. These were perfect for me. Appreciate they are heavy but they are stable and running in stability shoes which are always heavier I didn’t notice this extra weight. I would say if you are a stability shoe wearer and looking for a longer race distance shoe these are worth a look. I use vaporflys for 5/10k races but wouldnt want to take on anything further with my form

As a fan of earlier versions of Boston (v2 or V3 particularly) I think I'll be giving this one a miss... I loved that the earlier Bostons were lightweight but solid and durable - could run a marathon in them but could use them for tempo efforts... I did pick up a cheap pair of SL20 v1's though so interested to hear your thoughts on these...

I'm not sure why they even called this a Boston - it's such a huge departure from their earlier iterations. No tire rubber outersole, lots more cushion, heavier, less responsive. The 7 and 8 were great and filled a great niche in the shoe world, as something that could, depending on your foot, do pretty much everything and hold up for a long time

I was hoping for another refinement of the Boston 8/9. I did my 5k PB in the 8, but couldn't put more in distance than that in it due to how narrow it was through the midfoot. A little more width there, and it would have been my favorite shoe of all time... by a lot! Instead of the Boston 10, I went with the Atreyu The Artist. It's lighter and racier than the B10, making it feel like more of an evolution of what the old Boston was!

Who is it for? Sounds like a holiday shoe for tourist walking! The weight and lack of cushioning (despite the maximum stack heights) confirm other reviewers negatives. I won't be stocking it here at the Complete Runner Ilkley . Thanks Ben for confirming. Adidas would no doubt say that other brands max cushion shoes are TOO soft and therefore unstable. Who has achieved the happy medium? When will we see a well cushioned, lightweight shoe with some medial support for old beggars like me with over 120,00 miles in the legs.

For this weight gain they could simply match the boost with LS Pro... When you learn how little of LS Pro is really used (less than visible collar), you may feel cheated twice ! People, forget the notion that this is still the old Boston line - it's not! If you want the successor to Boston 9, go buy the Adios 6. Also, Boston 10 midsole breaks in/comes fully alive after 55km. Furthermore, this is NOT a speed shoe. Stop using it that way and stop expecting it to be that way. Use it for your long runs training sessions instead. TBH, I love the fact that people are passing on this shoe. More stocks for us, B10 lovers.
@BenParkes3 жыл бұрын
It's just frustrating they are marketing as the Boston 10.. they should have just discontinued the Boston name.. and called this something new.. But they called it Boston as the name sells and people would buy it. I'm sure a lot of people would have bought it based on the name and been really disappointed. Cheeky marketing by Adidas.. but poor for the consumer.
