The sole on the intercept was great, and an awesome flick; but the sides got soggy after one day. I love Neen, but I felt like I was going to roll my ankle in them. That sole though... it was awesome.

Size is important. You forget when you anchor your laces down, the tension on them makes them easier to rip. Going a half size down may have a more snug fit and have a longer life from the sidewalls blowing out because your foots actually helping keep the shoe snug on your foot, compared to shoes that "fit" or are "true to size" needing to be anchored down...

Just got a pair of these (the skate Superstar ADVs) on sale for $55 CAD. It was the last pair in stock and half a size smaller than I usually wear, but felt fine, so I decided to try them out. I'm completely stoked I did! Flick is great, lots of impact protection for small gaps and 5 sets. These and the Janoskis are the only ones I'd size down 1/2 a size. 👍

I mean the biggest thing is, that these were never made with skating in mind much like the Nike Blazer which was a basketball shoe these were originally tennis shoes if I recall correctly so they wouldn't have thought to hide the laces the way other more modern skate shoe might. I personally like the arch support of the insole but agree they are really stiff and not overly comfy or cushiony though

Toss your choice of FP insole in there and they’re comfy. If you don’t care about how your skate shoes look (you shouldn’t, they’re going to get destroyed) make a suede patch over your flick spot and shoe goo over it a few times.

@@DeaDAss-gi6vp full grain leather will last longer and skate like suede. The problem is, most skaters don’t know this and most companies don’t heavily market their full grain leather options. Hell, PJ had a failed DC shoe due to the much higher than average cost of his pro shoe. The fact there were two price points depending on which material you bought was such bullshit. It’s not like the suede version was substantially cheaper either.
