adidas Terrex Speed Ultra Review

I've got the old Boston 9, that I think are the best road shoes I've had, as I get no blisters, and I bought these, as I read a review saying they were like a trail boston 9! The lock down is better, but the laces I replaced, as they had no give, which transformed the shoes, and no blisters, that seem to have become a problem for me as I get stronger and faster with running. I just bought a backup pair today! Just for comparison, the HOKA speedgoat 3's, are amazing for grip, but for me I must have blister mitigation, like most other shoes for me, including other adidas!. Overall the Adidas are faster, but definitely not as quick as the hoka's on steeper more technical terrain downhill where alot of heal striking is less avoidable. On paved roads, for me, the Adidas are as quick as Adidas Boston 9's, but faster on gravel. I'm about to use these on my first 100km trail run, in recce run's for 90% of the course the Adidas were faster than the Hoka Speedgoat's and Tennine's (really good on both soft stuff and going downhill, but again blister's, but fun shoe). Nice honest review!

I enjoy this shoe very much and agree it makes an amazing road-to-trail option.

I agree that this is a great Road to Trail shoe. In terms of lockdown, I can manage a very tight fit and lockdown without even using the last eyelet at the top. For me the only negative is that I find that the upper rubs a little too hard into my ankles. My heel is not loose at all and I have narrow feet. They feel like the VJ Spark with more bounce, better on roads and less grip.

did you give those secondary eyelets a shot? the ones closer to the toe. Any more stability there?

Great review, what are your thoughts when comparing theses with the Hoka Zinal? over all fit and ride for a 50k thanks in advance….

a little late on the response but I'd lean towards to Zinal. For me the fit is more locked down and the midsole rides nicer across more terrain types

I bought these, but still didn't try yet because there is still nasty winter conditions in my country. Fits perfectly for me.

TERREX, early move from hiking to jogging...Will get better in models to come...INTERESTING....
