The problem I had with the UB22 was the height in the toebox - I could clearly see my big toe pushing up against the top of the shoe, nice firm bump to be felt, wouldn't have taken long to wear a hole in the top! And I easily had a thumbs width of space at the front so I had the right size on. Strange.

@@EDDBUD all jokes aside, I actually love that you both seruously reviewed this shoe and found its strengths of durability and cush. Knowing that plentiful colourways exist and that often go to 50% discount, I actually believe, if suitable for the individual, this shoe is a stellar, durable, valuable daily trainer and long run shoe. Yup, a tank.....but at 50% discount and 1000km durability, it's a great product.

People give the ultraboost a lot of flack and say it's not a running shoe but to me I find it to be a very consistent and reliable all rounder for any distance you throw at it. I have a limited budget so I can't afford to have multiple running shoes for various distances since I like to mix it up and run anywhere between 5-25 miles 3 times a week, and for me tge ultraboost is my go to for just that, yes I know it's not the best by any means but it does the job for me and it does it extremely well.

UB always struggled with lockdown with only 4 sets of eyelets. Complete contrast to the adizero shoes. I did get the OG and remember the heel flare was a real vote winner as at the time was having Achilles issues. Sure it did feel soft back then but when I tried another pair recently (the 4th version I think) remember it now feeling relatively firm compared to "modern" shoes. In the end I did a lot of treadmill miles in the OG. Felt they were "done" though and got rid of them recently. Ought to do with some pairs I am just not going to wear again.

The heel is very heavy and not as soft as the Boost in the forefoot area . Maybe with an 8mm drop the weight would be better balanced and in the process we would get more Boost in the forefoot too. I had to adapt myself with this shoe because it wanted me to strike the ground with my heel ... Sooner then later the Boost in the heel will be less hard and become a bit softer.

yeah, i found the size is too bigger if u wear the same size as ur usual adidas shoes. i have this shoe and it was 1.5 downsized than my other adidas running shoes. the UB 22 runs wide and bigger, so it is perfect for big guy. i think the sock-fit like and the newer upper make it so much spacious for the toe. just make sure you try it first before you buy it, cuz the size runs crazy wide/big. it's better if u bring your running socks too, the thick and thin, to fit it with the shoe

I'm tempted to buy the original, or as they call it the 1.0 DNA to be an all rounder. There doesn't seem to be a model out right now that does such a versatile job, once the Turbo and Speed?

@@carsonwong4144 honestly the UB 18s that are now known as the "DNA" variants are not as running focussed as their previous counter parts. For a good daily shoe with similar stack as the UB 20 - you could consider the Solarboost 3. They ride a little bit firm but once you break them in the shoe is such a decent all rounder. For the price and the purpose - the Solarboost 3 had impressed me quite a bit. 👍

I hear good things of the trimmed down solar boost.

I find the Boost shoes is a good investment because the cushion stays consistent even after hundreds of miles. The same cannot be said about the other shoes even though they are lighter. I've run 3:05 marathons in multiple instances as a training run with Boost as well as much lighter shoes and the effort felt the same.

Yes I can see them being superb for training. Some other Eva foams are dead within 200 miles.
