The problem I had with the UB22 was the height in the toebox - I could clearly see my big toe pushing up against the top of the shoe, nice firm bump to be felt, wouldn't have taken long to wear a hole in the top! And I easily had a thumbs width of space at the front so I had the right size on. Strange.

That is odd. Sad it didn’t work for you. Ideal for my strange feet. 🤣

@@EDDBUD all jokes aside, I actually love that you both seruously reviewed this shoe and found its strengths of durability and cush. Knowing that plentiful colourways exist and that often go to 50% discount, I actually believe, if suitable for the individual, this shoe is a stellar, durable, valuable daily trainer and long run shoe. Yup, a tank.....but at 50% discount and 1000km durability, it's a great product.

People give the ultraboost a lot of flack and say it's not a running shoe but to me I find it to be a very consistent and reliable all rounder for any distance you throw at it. I have a limited budget so I can't afford to have multiple running shoes for various distances since I like to mix it up and run anywhere between 5-25 miles 3 times a week, and for me tge ultraboost is my go to for just that, yes I know it's not the best by any means but it does the job for me and it does it extremely well.

UB always struggled with lockdown with only 4 sets of eyelets. Complete contrast to the adizero shoes. I did get the OG and remember the heel flare was a real vote winner as at the time was having Achilles issues. Sure it did feel soft back then but when I tried another pair recently (the 4th version I think) remember it now feeling relatively firm compared to "modern" shoes. In the end I did a lot of treadmill miles in the OG. Felt they were "done" though and got rid of them recently. Ought to do with some pairs I am just not going to wear again.

I had ultraboost laceless as my first proper running shoes loved them then got the ultraboost 20 yes they are heavy but ran fairly quick hilly half marathons in them with no issues. The weight never bothered me....until i bought those Brooks Hyperions which weigh next to nowt. The only issue with them is no grip especially in the constantly damp north of England. The heel is very heavy and not as soft as the Boost in the forefoot area . Maybe with an 8mm drop the weight would be better balanced and in the process we would get more Boost in the forefoot too. I had to adapt myself with this shoe because it wanted me to strike the ground with my heel ... Sooner then later the Boost in the heel will be less hard and become a bit softer.

I know each foot is different but these shoes were a big mistake on my part. In the store and generally it feels nice in them…. But it’s just not a good choice for running. I got immediate pain with my 1st run. Second run was a disaster. Pain in my calves and legs. I’m working out and did runs daily so why this would happen out of nowhere is beyond me. Will put these for the winter as they feel more like a boot and wear these as a regular going out shoes. Thankfully I bought black ones that are as fashionable and fits jeans as it gets.

yeah, i found the size is too bigger if u wear the same size as ur usual adidas shoes. i have this shoe and it was 1.5 downsized than my other adidas running shoes. the UB 22 runs wide and bigger, so it is perfect for big guy. i think the sock-fit like and the newer upper make it so much spacious for the toe. just make sure you try it first before you buy it, cuz the size runs crazy wide/big. it's better if u bring your running socks too, the thick and thin, to fit it with the shoe

An update, I ended up getting the 21 cold.dry version and tried them out today, love the fit , the feel, and the ride which seems so smooth. These are my winter shoe now, in freezing temperature the midsole felt consistent and the traction was good enough for lightly snowed, slush and a bit of ice. The waterproofing in the 21 is a bonus. Well Bud, just a quick wee question. Is it just me or does Addidas never have the same size trainers. My size is usually 11.5 but even buying a pair at size uk12 was too small.
@EDDBUD
@EDDBUD 2 жыл бұрын
In recent years yes. Though I feel they are nailing it true to size a bit more these days.

Looks like the boost is more a sneaker, then a runningshoe now. Especially with all the debris pickup. Massive PASS for me.

Not sure it’s designed for light trails. On road it’s no issue.

I simply can't imagine why anyone would want to actually RUN in these shoes. It'd be akin to strapping 2 (TWO) 12oz cans of Coke of your feet & going for a run. If I wanted to build leg strength, I would buy some of those 1 lbs., bean bag, ankle weights from the 80's to exercise in. There are several shoes in this category that offer the same max cushion at 2/3rds the weight and at lower price. Skechers Maxroad 5 comes to mind.

Yes it’s heavy but for some people it won’t be heavy and provide resilient cushion.

Touch heavier. A less spongy midsole feel in the boost. Still prefer my Vomero over this one. 👍🏼

The outsole for its debris eating abilities is very grippy. The continental rubber is so tacky ( in a good way ) and resilient.

Hey Edd. Honestly I have gone through quite a few pairs of Ultraboosts to be honest. 🤣 Pre UB 22-21 - they never disappointed me. Many kilometers run in them and a variety of runs could be done in them. 😎 Was my go to all rounder.

I'm tempted to buy the original, or as they call it the 1.0 DNA to be an all rounder. There doesn't seem to be a model out right now that does such a versatile job, once the Turbo and Speed?
@Supafloppy
@Supafloppy 2 жыл бұрын
@@carsonwong4144 honestly the UB 18s that are now known as the "DNA" variants are not as running focussed as their previous counter parts. For a good daily shoe with similar stack as the UB 20 - you could consider the Solarboost 3. They ride a little bit firm but once you break them in the shoe is such a decent all rounder. For the price and the purpose - the Solarboost 3 had impressed me quite a bit. 👍

I find the Boost shoes is a good investment because the cushion stays consistent even after hundreds of miles. The same cannot be said about the other shoes even though they are lighter. I've run 3:05 marathons in multiple instances as a training run with Boost as well as much lighter shoes and the effort felt the same.
@EDDBUD
@EDDBUD 2 жыл бұрын
Yes I can see them being superb for training. Some other Eva foams are dead within 200 miles.
