This is one of the better technical build channels ive seen in the years, I really hope this channel soars man cause it certainly is unique in the way you demonstrate and explain how to build shapes as a process to complete bigger structures. Really easy to follow and learn. I subbed in the hopes that you could possibly make an updated worldedit tutorial with the latest WE version. Anyway thanks for the great builds and tips bro!

I know i’m about a year late to commenting on this, but thank you for such an in-depth and informative video! Just two things i’d like to add: the first is that in the video you use the ryb color wheel, which while that is the most well-known color wheel, it is really best used for pigment-based color. Screens such as computer screens use light-based color, so the rgb wheel is probably best. That means that red, green, and blue are the primary colors, and the complementary colors are red-cyan, green-magenta, and blue-yellow. This may lead to even better color combos than using a ryb color wheel would get on a video game. Secondly, and correct me if you mentioned this in your video as I may have missed this, one good tip for if you’re having a hard time determining the value (light-darkness) or temperature of a color is to squint your eyes. Especially for blocks with more complex or high-contrast textures, squinting your eyes helps blur out all the excess noise to get a better general idea of what the block’s fundamental value and temperature is. Overall, very useful video and thanks for the info!
@AdieCraft
@AdieCraft Жыл бұрын
I did think about the RGB spectrum, but as the colour is on the blocks (which are open to lighting conditions in game) rather than a direct on screen representation of the colour the classic colour wheel seemed the best one, good shout on the squinting as a way to see the value 👍🏻

18:42 Might just mention here that I'm not just using colour theory for building. I'm looking at it through a way to make new dimensions that don't feel redundant. The overworld is primarily warm green, brown and grey with blue and white as accent colours. The nether uses the warm colours with turquoise and black as accents. The end is Black and white with purple as an accent. We could do with places that primarily use cooler greens, blue, indigo magenta or red-orange. Maybe with the super-saturated stuff delegated to artificial blocks. And maybe not just colour, we could have contrast, brightness and saturation play into palettes of these theoretical new places.

There's not many transitions from black or white to colour unfortunately. You can get to Brown from Black through the Terracotta's and some of the deepslate ores or glazed terracotta blocks can help too for getting colour from black or white.

Thank you for the tutorial. Do you recommend having a creative world with the exact seed as your survival to plan out builds worth the terrain before building in survival? Or just do it in a flat world with the builds. I ask cause I feel it’s double work to do it in creative?
@AdieCraft
@AdieCraft 7 ай бұрын
Thank you! It depends. Flat worlds are great, but seeing a build in its environment helps get the feel for the finished result. I would say both are good. If you’re doing basic planning and making general ideas then a flat world is good. But if you want to plan out a world and get the atmosphere then I would use a copy of the seed. I have a flat world for messing about and a copy of my Adie’s adventure world for full planning of the area.

1:13 red, yellow and blue are not the primary colors Red GREEN and Blue are the actually primary colors(in case of light color) or Magenta Yellow and Cyan (in terms of pigment color) The video is great, but we need to make that distiction in order to understand color in te correct way, RYB(red,yellow and blue) it's an inferior version of CYMK (Cyan Yellow Magenta and Black) because back then they don't have the tech to understand right the colors
@AdieCraft
@AdieCraft Жыл бұрын
This actually depends on what colour model you're looking at, the one referenced is the Classical Artistic model (part of the subtractive models - mainly used in painting), rather than that used in light (RYB) or printing (CMYK) models. This was specifically used for ease of understanding for people being introduced to the topic, although you are correct that there are certainly more models that people can explore. They are just that though. Models rather than one definitive right or wrong answer and all three models are accepted to provide primary colours based on the perspective of the requester. From a Minecraft perspective RYB is a nice simple introduction to help people start matching colours.
@kevinpiriz469
@kevinpiriz469 Жыл бұрын
@@AdieCraft there are right or wrong answers. You can't mix RYB and obtain all the colors, so they aren't primary colors, because by definition, primary colors are those with which you can obtain all other colors, I understand that the idea of the video is learningn how to improve building in minecraft and not being picky and pretencious with color theory, but this is basic, and RYB is not correct, simply as that.
