Should b a very torquey engine with the smaller RF 900 head is that what u were aiming for ? Nice work I assume the spacer plate is to compensate for the larger stroke on the GSXR 1100 I think they’re a very well designed engine better than some engines I’ve seen

Yes, you guessed on both counts. I wanted a nice torquey road bike. Indeed 2mm spacer is to compensate for longer stroke of the crank but also to lower the compression radio because RF's combustion chambers are only 13cc (GSXR 1100 are 23cc) so CR would be ridiculously high if RF's head was used on GSXR motor.

Hi! And tell me where you can buy a 2 mm gasket for suzuki rf900 cylinders, and is there an article of this gasket that you put on your engine
@Adikxx
@Adikxx 7 ай бұрын
2mm spacer can be bought from Orient Express in USA. It's the GSXR1100W spacer which fits percectly on RF engine.

Thanks! And if it's not difficult, please share a link to this store, or even better to the gasket

I've been watching to see if I could spot the 'cushions' (square plastic thingies, with a half-moon profile on one side that the chain guide sits on). Stripping my own engine down, my engine's 'cushions' came away with barely any effort, so I shall need to glue them back in place during the re-build. Sent an e-mail to Robinsons to see if Suzuki recommend or provide a specific glue..... Weren't able to offer any advice. (perhaps no help = no chance of litigation, if something went wrong?) So... My question - has anyone else found they need to remount the little black, square blocks the cam chain guide sits on? If so, what adhesive did you use? (any tips very gratefully received!) (On the parts diagrams, their labelled as 'cushions', so it's not simply me coming up with a weird name for them 🙂)

Hi buddy From what i can remember when i had my motor apart those two bits were not glued there. I think you just put them in place and that's it.

@@Adikxx Thanks very much for taking the time to reply. You're quite right! I hadn't realised they are 'captured' when you put the crank cases back together. I asked the peeps on the Owners Forum, and they said the same as your good self. I might use a smidge of engineering silicon to keep them in place, whilst I put it back together, just so they don't wander about. Thanks for doing this video series, it really is excellent, and very, very useful! 🙂

Hi. I'm looking to convert my RF9 to the GSXR11W. Is it possible to contact you.

Thank you for your reply. Is it Cometic gaskets you have used and what are the part numbers for both gaskets. One last question, did you use the RF or Gsxr ECU.
@Adikxx
@Adikxx Жыл бұрын
@@Michael-oc5zw It depends on what you want to do. If you want to keep stock GSXR 1100W bores of 75.5mm(1074cc) then you just use OEM GSXR 1100W head gasket. If you want GSXR 1100 barrels bored out to either 77mm(1117cc) or 78mm( 1146cc) you'd need to use aftermarket head gaskets dedicated to the particular bore. Cometic and Wiseco used to sell those gaskets. OEM GSXR 1100W base gasket can be used in all scenarios mentioned above. I used GSXR 1100W CDI because the whole rotating assembly is from Gixer11 and rev limiter for gixer is 500 rpm lower, i wanted it all to be as compatible as possible. It will run on RF's CDI but not sure how well. Head porting(very expensive) would be recommended.
