Thanks for the video. These bikes are from "my time" so to speak,There's a decent GV1200 for sale nearby for $1200 that's calling my name, mostly because it's weird and rare. V65s seem to bring out a phantasmagorical reaction in a lot of people, when really they are about as potent as a Bandit 1200. It was cool seeing the old Madura holding its own. GS850 wheels slip on to help in the looks department and give a nice drop in gearing for harder acceleration.

The order doesn't seem right on setting the tensioner. If you snug down the locknut before thightening the mounting bolts (pivot and set) of the tensioner, you may overtighten the chain as the locknut will push it down further. That is not its function. The locknut should be last piece you tighten. Haynes manual clearly says this order to follow. Factory manual doesn't mention tightening the locknut at all, they forgot.
@BalikaMr4 күн бұрын
Thank you mister, I needed the completely disassemble it and this solved the overtightening problem :) factory manual also doesn't specify this tightening sequence for these bolts

How do you punch holes add screws or cut off with a dremel without the sparks? It is a silly idea from Yamaha that looses so much space ( I still dont get why they have the flap) and an extra 10-15 miles of travel would make my journeys that little bit easier.

Oh man I loved the engine in mine. It was heaps of fun! Sadly I never got the riding position right. My legs would cramp and wrists would go numb after only 45 mins even with risers. You have awoken a memory: Way back in 1994 when I got my first Blade I used it for comuting to work along some wonderful back lanes. It was during this time I realised what I realy enjoyed was overtaking cars. So I started counting them each day. If it was an early start it could be "zero" whaich meant I had the benefit of a clear road round all the best corners. If it was later in the day I could offset the dissapointment with the 200+ passed cars score. Either way I would arrive happy.

Tire burning kinda make me feel like, MAN!, why do you want to F up a perfectly good bike.
@Adikxx20 күн бұрын
Burning the rubber does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING bad to those bikes.. Those tires were old , that's how you end the tire which is destined for the bin.
@gphilipc203120 күн бұрын
@@Adikxx Old tires not a problem as I would change mine when they get too old regardless of tread depth. More the engine, clutch, and drivetrain is getting prematurely aged if one does this too frequently. In my opinion.
@Adikxx20 күн бұрын
@@gphilipc2031 I appreciate and respect your opinion but.. one minute at 6-7k rpm won't even cause the rad fan to kick in. You'd do more damage to drivetrain and clutch by launching hard from traffic lights when racing. Once the traction of that tire is broken it slides on the tarmac like on butter(especially with old hardened tire).
