I can't believe people like him get banned more than 3 times in a row without getting permabanned and smaller creators get perma for smaller things than what he does instantly without a warning or a reason, twitch is truly a mystery
@pum819 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. And even then, to think that Adin had the audacity of claiming that Twitch is playing favourites and hates him or something is unreal. It's crazy how he took everything for granted and when twitch finally got a little strict with him, he started acting like he was the victim. I also hate how he promoted kick as a free speech platform where he and his chat can say anything they want but all that they do is throw around slurs and hate speech.

I think the reason they dont give reasons for bans (or at least publicly) is because if they do, they have to be held to a standard across the board. Asmond had a good theory on why YT and Twitch aren't transparent about bans when he talked about the AR ban. The gist was that they want it to be somewhat vague so people are scared and don't push the limits too much. Otherwise if it's fully transparent, people would A/B test to push the limits as far as they can, which is just a problem for the platform.
@garybuttherissilent5896 Жыл бұрын
I disagree. I believe that by not setting clear boundaries, they allow themselves to have more flexibility with regard to their decision-making and it allows them to adapt their choices to the situation and its consequences. Their motives might be politically and/or financially charged, and they don't want people to know that. I mean, the extreme right has pretty much been banned from all social media platforms (even though its counterpart isn't), but platforms don't want to explicitly state that they're politically biased in order to prevent a lot of fools from being disillusioned. The same goes for Reddit, Twitter (pre Musk) etc.

Asmon gave a good reason for why they don't wanna reveal the reasons for why someone gets banned. They want to avoid people A/B-testing what gets you banned since that would allow people to try and push the boundaries and test the limits of what they can and cannot do. And also, keeping it uncertain makes people stay on their toes trying to not do anything wrong since they can't be sure of what is bannable.
@blackzero1956 Жыл бұрын
That'd a good take. I'd also assume the fact that he brings in 100,000's of viewers they'd be shooting themselves in the foot a bit by forcing him to move to another platform and losing that much viewership.

That's a bad way to run a company. The issue with these social media companies has always been a lack of transparency with the bans. And yet they are still doing it. If someone did something wrong, stipulate it in writing so that there can be a record.
@cagecage3444 Жыл бұрын
Nah that doesn't make sense besides the fact it exaggerates how much people will try to find the limits to do dumb things, the system also limits positive creativity a streamer can have. This whole system is made so it can make room for arbitrary decisions so it can protect streamers that can bring numbers and especially women, so those guys can get banned lots of times without a worry. The site is focused to maximise their profit or their own agenda. Arbitrary decisions are a good way to avoid drama and hide their total pursue of personal interests over the streamer's or who's viewing interest.
@shinymetagross1666 Жыл бұрын
I'd believe that if they consistently enforced the ToS, but there have been so many examples of streamers blatantly breaking the rules and getting away with it. That's my question but literally all you need to get popular nowadays is to be very very controversial

I really hope that in all this actually bad debauchery going on in front of our eyes, that you all continue to protect yourselves and others from those who would abuse you or lead you astray. I hope you all keep safe from all these gross abuses of civility and that they don't effect your lives.

Asmongold has said the reason why Twitch keep their banning reason a secret. Twitch want streamers to fear the terms of service. Not having a clear what not to do can make streamers fear pushing or testing the limits. This is the most cost effective way to police a streaming platform with minimum streamers pushing what’s allowed. Less streamers are willing to do risky content because of this.

There are millions of men who deserve to be your role model. If you choose Andrew Tate, Sneako or Adin Ross, you deserve the failure coming your way. That’s just natural selection at work.
