Met my wife at the Trop. We were by the pool and I told her if she was my girl I’d take her to Hawaii and treat her like a queen. She was from Alabama and had 1.5 years left to go in Auburn pharmacy school. I dated her long distance. 33 years and 4 children later, she is still my queen. Oh, and by the way - I did take her to Hawaii!

Our daughter and son-in-law came into town last weekend from Michigan and we had to go to the Tropicana wedding chapel ~ they got married there 27 years ago in June. In fact, that was the night of the Tyson-Holyfield fight next door at MGM where Tyson bit off Holyfield's ear ~ talk about a crazy night!

The Tropicana was our first hotel when we traveled to Las Vegas to be married. Loved the pool, gardens, the birds and the Follies. We came back for a prenuptial 5 years later - with our little kids - and stayed in a bungalow room overlooking the pool. We are sad to see it go.

Great to see Deke on the show, and LOVED the bit on Jewish deli rankings. I agree, Bagel Mania is a great choice. And yes, I actually do play video poker there while enjoying the town's best pastrami on rye! They're PowerVison machines, not IGT, but you can't have it all.

Another reason to love the old Trop was that there was putting green grass right up to the edge of the pool. No burning feet on concrete.

Back in the day Disneyland Hotel had Dancing Waters, kind of like Liberace. Then what you mention Disney California Adventure had an incredible World of Color show in the lagoon. I agree. Belagio needs to step up their game

The spots he hit were the black ones, 25, 35, 36, 45, 47, 53 and 54. 25 also had a multiplier because the frog licked the dragonfly on that number. 47 had a dragonfly but since tbe frog couldnt lick it, it stayed a dragonfly. 27 was not one of his spots because it was pink/purple but the frog licked it and it turned into two more bonus games. He had accumulated 7X multiplier and in this bonus it added 2X more for a total of 9X.

Regarding slot influencers, our favorite is Daniel of vegaslowroller. He talks non-stop while he plays, making up songs and jokes while also playing a lot of newest slot games (and, every now and then, VP). He's also not afraid to post sessions where he gets wiped out.

My first 5 trips were junkets to the Trop with wally Shaul. Won a 30k 6 spot keno in the 80s, when money was money. Rip trop

The times, they are a-changin'. As always in Vegas. Happy to say I stayed at the Tropicana, I think 3 times for a total of probably a dozen nights. That and the Riviera were the only real old-school Vegas hotels I stayed at. By the time I stayed at Riviera, it was a pretty rough place, while the Trop was still quite nice if a bit worn down.

Last time I was at the Trop (year ago?) they had no hot water on Monday morning. Good riddance! The only positive things were that I could use my Hilton Honors points to book my stays and I could walk to the Raiders games. I should add, I stayed there with on one of my first visits to Vegas back in ~1989 and thought the swim up blackjack was awesome.

The seven number that hit were 25, 35, 36, 45, 47, 53 and 54 (the black boxes). 1 and 27 landed on bonus games (pink boxes) but didn't effect the payout, and didn't need to be picked. 25 doubled the payout. I don't know where the 9x multiplier came from, perhaps it was random.
